I had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Vischio during my recent trip to Osaka, and I must say that my experience was overwhelmingly positive. I would give this hotel a 5-star rating for its numerous great features with a few areas that could be improved.
First and foremost, I was impressed with the friendly and polite staff who went out of their way to make my stay comfortable. When I needed a measuring tape, the staff were nice enough to lend me one, which was very helpful.
The coin-laundry service was definitely a bonus, allowing me to wash and dry my clothes within 2 hours with less than 3kg of laundry - convenience at its best. The amenities provided were also really good, and I loved that they were free to take from the lobby. The toothbrush, toothpaste, facial wash, facial cream, after-shaver cream, razor, tea, coffee, cotton buds, etc. were all of high quality, but the facial cream was the star for me. It was really useful during the winter season and was thick and effective. There was also a humidifier in the room, which helped me sleep better. The hotel also provided 2 bottles of water per day, which was a nice touch.
I appreciated that the hotel offered a luggage service, although I found it slightly pricey, and they mentioned it takes one day even though we were still within Osaka Prefecture, so we decided not to proceed with it.
Another feature I found impressive was the mirror on top of the sink, which had a warmer that kept it clear even when we were bathing in water. It was really cool and impressive! Additionally, the high-tech toilet seat with controls that you'd expect from a Japanese toilet bowl was a delight to use. I also liked that on the daily clean up, they topped up the toiletries as well, even though it was a whole bottle and we hadn't finished a quarter of it.
The hotel also helped us reserve a taxi on the day of our check-out, making our check-out process fast and smooth.
On the downside, there were some things that could be improved. On the first day, there were stains on the floor below the table, and a dark circle spot on the floor in between the window and the bed. Also, the TV channels didn't have any English channels, and it wasn't possible to connect to their TV with an HDMI cable, so we couldn't watch shows via our laptop. Lastly, the room was quite small, but this is expected in most hotels in Japan.
Overall, I would highly recommend Hotel Vischio to anyone traveling to Osaka. The staff were friendly and polite, and the amenities provided were great. Although there were a few areas for improvement, my stay was enjoyable and...

Read moreSpent 8 nights at the hotel with 2 room types. Our family booked a 3-person room for the first 4 nights and a 2-person room for the last 4 nights as my sister was departing Japan earlier while I stayed behind with my mom. It was a truly horrible experience during the room transit. After we checked in the second room, a front desk lady called with an unfriendly tone, accused that we got 3 persons staying in the room so she asked to pay for the extra headcount. I reiterated to her that we only had 2 persons to stay behind but she further replied with a rude and arrogant tone saying that she witnessed our family went up the room together. I tried to clarify we just put my sister’s luggage in the room but it was neglected. As such, I approached the front desk trying to clarify the issue afterwards. The same lady came up and spoke with a heightened tone that she was calling my room. I told her that I have clarified to the hotel multiple times on our bookings and the number of family members to stay to avoid we got the wrong room. We actually emailed our request before our stay, and we repeated it again during our first and second check-in at the front desk. When I asked her the reason for the accusation, she was rude and emotional so we entered into a debate on the issue. Finally she said the hotel didn’t allow checked out person to enter upstairs but nobody from the front desk told me face to face during the check-out as I did mention I’ll put all our luggages upstairs while my sister will depart at 6pm. Also, they didn’t offer temporary storage of the luggages at the lobby throughout the process. This is my second time staying in this hotel but the service quality was deteriorated significantly compared to the first time. The staff used to be friendly and helpful. However, the attitude and the manner of the lady staff was totally unacceptable. I’ve never imagined I would come across such experience in my journey. It will never be my choice in Osaka going forward. There’re always better choice of hotels in Umeda or Osaka at similar price range. If you prefer a relaxed and hassle-free experience, please go for the better choice but if you insist to stay here, my opinion is that you better try not to bother with some...
