Small shop that seats about 10-11 people at a time. All bar/counter seating, the staff greet enthusiastically. The onigiri are sizable and filling. Rice was soft and there was a good amount of filling/topping. They provide bowls and dashi broth so that you can put your excess rice in the bowl and turn it into chazuke. Since the fillings were so flavorful I had a hard time harvesting excess rice for my bowl. Next time I would just put more of my rice with the filling into the soup, it is all good mixed together regardless. The mentaiko mayo is a very solid choice for mentaiko lovers. The grilled miso cheese does not have a filling but is instead a rice patty coated in miso, topped with cheese and grilled, super umami. The negitoro and soy marinated egg yolk was also super yummy. The runny yolk coated the rice and went really well with the toro. The tuna and plum pickles however was just okay. It tasted like a tuna sandwich, which is not bad but not the best. The salmon and roe are also a solid choice. We also got the chicken and cheese, the filling themselves were good but i felt they were not as good with the rice as the negitoro or...
Read moreI had an amazing experience at Onigiri Gorichan! The onigiri here is made with top-quality rice and fresh ingredients, and every bite was packed with flavor. My favorite was the salmon roe and salmon onigiri—the perfect balance of richness from the salmon and the delightful pop of the roe made it absolutely delicious.
One of the highlights of my visit was the ochazuke experience. Being able to make my own ochazuke for free was such a unique touch! The combination of warm dashi broth over the onigiri created a comforting and flavorful meal, making the whole experience even more special.
The staff were absolutely lovely—so energetic, kind, and happy! Their warm and cheerful attitude made the experience even more enjoyable. The whole place had such good vibes, and you could tell they genuinely cared about making customers feel welcome.
If you’re in the area and love onigiri, this place is a must-visit. Simple, high-quality, and packed with authentic flavors—I’ll definitely be...
Read more"Best onigiri I have eaten to date!" The onigiris were made to order, so you'll receive hot onigiris well wrapped with seaweed. We had to wait for quite a bit before we were seated but the staff were very polite & served us cold water. (Perfect for the hot weather). The queuing system was also very systematic, we were there at an off peak timing however there was still a Q, within about 20-30 mins we were seated. Not very sure for other outlets but this outlets was mainly bar seating so we are able to watch the chef prepare the onigiris on the spot! (anticipation ++!) I ordered onigiri no3. which is the salted roe and salmon. A few bites in and wow the saltiness of the salmon and roe is just perfect! Umami enough, even after finishing the onigiri the memory of the saltiness still remains, the rice proportion was good ratio to the other ingredients. It was so good that I could have ordered another onigiri but had to save my tummy for dinner. Will come by again if I'm...
