PIZZERIA e TRATTORIA DUOMO — Restaurant in Osaka

Whilst I have gone to the Allegro establishment before, this was the first time eating at Duomo. As a group we ordered two pair lunches, which each came with an entree, one pizza, one pasta, and a dessert. We tried out the margherita pizza, salmon lemon pasta, and chicken thigh red wine pasta. Like at Allegro, all the food was of fantastic quality and equally delicious. The pizza was very reminiscent of their Allegro sister shop. The pasta was equally fantastic as it was cooked to perfection and well seasoned. My only criticism of my experience was the considerable waiting period for the food to come out. Ive only seen the crazy pizza hut pizzas in japan but this was the first time i was brought to a place my friend told me was good.

They are def more italian style vs new york style pizzas. Their margaritas or red sauce pizzas were the best though it gets a little wet in the tips of the pizzas. Their buffalo cheese (which costs $3-4 extra was good. Pricey in the japan sense but it is imported stuff).

Staff didnt speak a ton of english but they had an english menu. Just ask for Eh-go menu.

Place was poppin as far as the number of people. We had to reserve seats and we had dinner at around 7:30pm.

If the place is too full try some of the other places thay are open around. Its hard to miss in japan as far...

Friday nights are booked out! I got in at 6pm opening as a single person with mediocre Japanese on the promise I would vacate the table by 7:30. Book by phone, at least two days before, for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday apparently. Food was excellent, on par with anything in Australia. Beer was cold. Olives were nice, priced as you would expect. The pancetta pizza went down very easily, as did the tiramisu. Staff were stellar, place was pumping. Music was Italian village, as was the decor.
