I stayed here because I was desperate. It was cherry blossom season, I had spent 2 nights in Kyoto, but there were absolutely no beds left there. There were hardly any beds in Osaka, which is how I had the misfortune to stmble across this little place...||||Let's start with directions. Now, normally I am quite prepared, have google map images, and a fiarly good idea of where I am going. But the directions I had for the hostel seemed so good that I wouldn't need it. I was wrong, so very wrong. While it should have taken 10 mins to get to the hostel, it took over an hour (in the dark, in a dodgy area I later found out, carry my big backpack). Beware of exit 12... there is no exit 12!||||Once I found the place (with a lot of luck!), I found the staff quite unsympathetic. In fact, I wasn't sure who actually worked there and whoo didn't. It was like I had just stempled into the common area, not the reception.||||After my experience, I thought it best just to have a shower and go to bed. The showers (2 only) and toilet (1 only) are downstairs through the common room, which is a bit awkward.||||The walls were literally made of paper, when the roomo next door had their light on, it shone directly into the dorm room. When someone came in and turned on the dorm light, the couple next door came to me to complain that the light was shining directly into their room!||||There was no one at 'reception' when I went to check out.||||Tips for the owners: get some new staff, and new directions!||Tips for travellers: do...
Read moreDo not stay here. I have stayed in 2 other hostels during our visit in Japan and this one PALES in comparison in so many levels. ||||Location is hard to find, no clear directions in their website.||Linens were suspect as I had a coughing fit all night.||Poorly maintained showers (and I am using nice words here)||The showers and toilet is by the common room which is super awkward||You don't know who is the staff and who is not||Cannot use the kitchen at specific times ||||||I do not have a problem with silence because all the other hostels have a silence rule at 10pm or so but here, you even have to WALK LIKE A NINJA because apparently their neighbour complains and cannot sleep! I mean, you go backpacking because you want to meet new people but if you can't even talk to them, then what is the point of this hostel? Furthermore, it seems that this hostel's primary business is not for hostel business because we noticed that there were some permanent guests who were students. ||||This review got 2 stars because of Fifi- the girl who took care of us. She moved us to a private room from the mixed dorm rooms because of our bags. She was the only friendly face in the entire place. Everyone else looks so gloomy. So much thanks to her because SHE made our stay bearable.||||Overall:...

Cons: BEDBUGS!!! Other reviews have pointed this out but please be aware - there ARE BEDBUGS. DO NOT STAY. The price is enticing, but it’s not worth the headache. I have literally been sitting in the laundromat all day because of the bedbugs we found in this hostel. The staff was apologetic, but this bedbug problem has obviously persisted for weeks as there are reviews dating back almost a month pointing out this issue, yet the hostel does not address these concerns in reviews. Also, the rooms are cramped and dirty. There’s very little room for luggage storage, but this isn’t the fault of the property per se - the BIG issue is the cleanliness. The bathrooms were dirty and cramped, as was the kitchen. The whole place could use an overhaul and SERIOUS professional cleaning in EVERY ROOM - not just spraying with bug spray. I would be willing to return if they take the cleanliness seriously, but until then, I would absolutely not recommend. Spend the extra money and go somewhere else - again, not worth...
