I visited this restaurant for lunch as a female solo traveller. I just walked in around noon, and the staff was very welcoming and accommodating. I waited for a seat at the counter, and in the meanwhile they made me seat at a table and served me some very appreciated cold tea (it was boiling outside!).
The store manager speaks good English and was very attentive to all the customers (who are mostly Japanese). I was very impressed by his kindness and genuine passion for sushi; he made sure that I understood all the pieces, and we had a nice relaxed conversation. The customer service is excellent.
The atmosphere was also very nice in my view, most customers were speaking with each other in a friendly manner, and the vibe was very comfortable and not too noisy. Compared to other (more expensive) sushi places I have been to this restaurant was a bit less solemn, but in a positive way.
I had the lunch course, and the sushi was very good and fresh! I loved all the pieces, but the scallop with yuzu really hit differently. I was also positively impressed by the cost/quality performance; plenty of sushi and a cup of good quality sake for about 5,000 yen (around 30 euros).
When I left it was pouring down outside, and the store manager offered me an umbrella. I already had an umbrella, but his kind gesture really reinforced the already beautiful experience. I...
Read moreI am so angry that I will write it down in three languages. I sincerely hope that you will see this review. First of all, I made a reservation through the Japanese website 'Tavelog' to taste Omakase in Osaka as a Korean. I made a reservation for the most expensive course at 9,900 yen per person.
First of all, I went to eat high-quality omakase that explained what fish came out one by one, not a cheap sushi restaurant. However, the hostess spoke only Japanese, and in the end she only show the pictures 2 out of 10 course meals. I barely managed to get a glimpse of that as well. I had no idea what sauce was on it or what fish it was. I understand that many foreign customers make reservations, so shouldn't you at least try to let them know through a translator or make a Korean/English menu and point it with your fingers? The menu only comes out when I receive additional orders haha I think this needs to be fixed for other customers. Does it make sense not to know what sushi is served at Omakase restaurant?
Second, I don't know if it's racist issue, and I don't want to believe it, but I felt that both the main chefs who make sushi only cared about the counter guests (almost all Japanese) and were not very kind to us sitting at the table.
Third, it didn't taste good enough to pay for it. Omakase, which I paid 50,000 won in Korea, was 10 times better and of better quality. It didn't taste good, but the service was not good, so I was really angry.
I made a reservation on Taberog and tried to leave a review on Taberog, but it didn't work with an app error, so I leave it on Google. I hope you can make a better sushi restaurant by correcting the above.
Read moreI booked a table through Tabelog five days in advance. To me, omakase implies sitting at the bar and watching the chef prepare sushi. However, when I arrived, the waiter seated me behind the bar instead. I’m curious about the difference between this experience and dining in an ordinary restaurant. I would categorize this place as relatively high class, costing 9,900 yen per person. Unfortunately, during my visit, I had no interaction with the chef, so be prepared for a similar experience if you sit at the bar.
Additionally, the staff's English skills are limited, so you might need to use Google Translate to communicate with them.
Regarding the food quality, I found that it didn't compare well to the sushi from conveyor belt restaurants. I'm puzzled by the high reviews this restaurant received; I felt misled.
Overall, I had a...
