I've been here twice in the past few months. The name of the ramen shop is ”焼飯と麺(Fried Rice and Noodles)”. It gives off the feeling that they are confident in the taste of their fried rice and noodles lol. When you enter the restaurant, there is a ticket machine on the right side of the narrow corridor, so you can buy a ticket there and immediately pass it to the staff. If you go up the stairs to the upper right, there are four table seats and about five counter seats in an open space on one floor. You can pour water yourself and wait for 5 minutes for the food to be served. The first time, I ordered the "Chinese Ramen Noodles and Half Fried Rice Set" and the second time, the "Night-only Oiled Ramen Noodles and Half Fried Rice Set". First, the fried rice. The spices and the degree of frying are exquisitely done. Next, the noodles. The Chinese Ramen Noodles has a deep flavor, but is refreshing. The Oiled Ramen Noodles is an exquisite combination of the spiciness of the spices and the flavor of the green onions with the thin and firm noodles. Read moreWell the experienced may take this with a grain of salt, as this is literally my first meal on my first trip to Japan, but it really hit the spot after a long hot walk around Osaka castle. The servers were very helpful in giving suggestions and the vending machine ordering was fun for me. The ramen broth has incredible depth and a delicious saltiness along with very fresh thinly sliced meat. The portion with fried rice on the side is quite large, as I'm struggling to finish despite being ravenous. Get used to sitting shoulder to shoulder with a stranger, but I think that's just life in Japan, and I personally enjoy the cultural differences. A special extra star goes to the DJ! As a man who tore up the lindy hop dance floor many moons ago, I loved the throwback swing music playing in the background. Well...
Read moreMe and my family came here at the end of rush hour around 2:00. The staff were helpful and friendly. I only had 10,000 yen on me and they were kind enough to give me denominations of 1000 because that's what the machine operated on.
The food was plentiful and hearty. Great flavor and great options to go with the ramen and fried rice. The ramen has great flavor and honestly was the best thing for me during the meal. The fried rice was good as a finisher though the taste was still excellent.
Overall if you are walking around Osaka castle and need a place to eat that's around 15 mins to get to from the Osaka Museum this place will do you good.
Thank you to the service staff for the wonderful meal. My family and I were left satisfied and well...
