Yuion Japanese Tea Bar & Restaurant — Restaurant in Osaka

I rarely write negative reviews, especially for small independent places, but my experience here was unfortunately very uncomfortable.

As a tea master and someone passionate about Japanese tea, I was very excited to visit this tea bar. The interior is unique and atmospheric, with a charming vintage style — but the service and communication made the visit stressful rather than enjoyable.

For non-Japanese speakers, this place is quite difficult. Although the name and some reviews are in English, the handwritten menu is only in Japanese, which makes it nearly impossible to navigate even with translation apps. The staff did not make any effort to assist, and the interaction felt rushed and unfriendly.

On my first visit (around 11 am) I was told there was no tea service until 3 pm. When I returned the next day after 3 pm, I was informed that they would close at 4:30, and that my visit had to be very short. When I finally ordered Gyokuro Genmaicha, I asked about desserts listed online, but was told they were sold out — only to see them later served to other guests. This left me feeling confused and unwelcome.

I recognize that my lack of Japanese was part of the problem, but in my experience tea establishments are usually very hospitable regardless of language. Sadly, this was not the case here.

In short: while the setting is interesting, foreign visitors may find the atmosphere unwelcoming and the experience...

今日はずっと来たかった「結音茶舗」さんにセカンドアタックでやっと叶いました。 場所は谷町線の谷町六丁目駅4番から出て桃園公園を抜け迷路のような細い路地をクネクネと行ったところ。 Googleマップで自分の立ち位置を何度も確認しながら向かいます。 初回は改装のためお休みだったのでFacebookで細かく投稿を確認して再トライ、今回は大丈夫そうかな笑

細い民家の合間にやっと見つけたお店、並ぶ間も静かに静かに… 時間が来ると暖簾がスッと出され中へと順に通されます。

靴を脱いで下駄箱に入れたら古民家の昭和の茶の間にトリップです。 星一徹がひっくり返していたような懐かしいちゃぶ台が置かれ年季で艶を帯びた今も動いている柱時計や湯沸かしポット、そして流れてくる昭和初期の懐メロ… 東京〜ブギウギ…♪ そのどれもに触れたくなる。

この日お店の方は割烹着姿に赤ちゃんを背負った奥様独り、 『独りでやっているのでとても待ち時間があると思いますが大丈夫ですか？』 と問われ、 少しびっくりしながらも大丈夫ですと答えて 一つだけのメニューのほうじいなり御膳を注文しました。

リアルな昭和気分に包まれ1人座布団に座りポットで入れた湯呑みのほうじ茶を頂きながらライトスタンドの灯りで積まれていた戸川純の自伝書のページをめくります

2階では子供が走り回る音、降りてきて盛り付けをする母に『お腹すいたー』と見上げている姿。 タイムスリップしたかのような昭和感が懐かしくて微笑ましくて。 既に待ち時間は20分程経過していたと思いますが 客は誰ひとりとして文句を言うこともなくその光景を楽しんでいるように眺め待っていました

足の痺れが切れるころ出された大きなお盆のごちそう。 小さな枡に入ったおしぼりにほうじ茶で煮込んだおいなりさん3種 小松菜・梅酢蓮根・山芋わさびを乗せたおいなりさんには中にスライスした食感の良い山芋が入っていました 甘く炊かれたほうじ茶のお揚げさんはふっくらとした母の味。 箸を伸ばした甘辛い手羽先としゅんだ大根、筑前煮にエリンギや南京と野菜たっぷりどれも懐かしくて優しい味でした

待たされた甲斐のあったランチだと私は感じました。 懐かしさが新しくて不思議とほっこりする昭和なひととき… もし行かれる方は、時間を気にせず気持ちにゆとりを持ってタイムスリップを楽しんで欲しいと思います。
