Well i just checked in today, so let's start on a positive note: the rooms are big (for an Japanese hotel room).
The biggest issues are: Black mold in the bathroom and even under the edge of the toilet. And in such extent that it looks hazardous for your health so do look out!! Also the airconditioning smells really bad and i think this is due to bad maintenance (i think it never had maintenance) but i am not able to use it due to the funky smell.
The servicedesk people are very nice and helpful but i know they cannot help this it's a shame really. Do notice that the staff does not speak any English so you need internet and a translation app to communicate. But this is kinda normal in Japan as in my experience so this you cannot blame the staff for.
Overall i would not advise this hotel to friends and family
Edit: the cleaning crew indeed is thr biggest issue this hotel has, even if you need a elevator the cleaning crew does not let guests go first they go themselves. Also they seem to remove pictures that i made showing huge spots of black mold so i will upload them to Expedia. after being here for 2 days i can say for sure that this is by far the worst hotel i ever been...
Read moreI booked this hotel and was refused as they had no room for the two of us. They asked me to cancel through expedia and I was charged about $100usd. The staff guaranteed that I would not be charged the cancellation fee. I asked for some sort of paperwork to guarantee I would not be charged but they refused to give me anything.
Due to them not having room, I had to stay in a budget hotel due to them not having a room till the 30th of December.
I had to rebook again through the internet so I came back on the 30th and told them that expedia has charged me and all they could say was sorry. They would not give me back the cancellation fee and would not compensate me in any way.
The staff there are were also rude and not helpful whenever we requested something, they just said that they could not help us.
The breakfast was the same thing everyday, so I would avoid buying with breakfast,
I am VERY UNHAPPY I would not recommend staying here, and if you do be careful as...
Read moreAs its name suggested, it is located on the east side of Dontonbori (東心齋橋). However, it is quite far from any metro station. So on the day when you arrive or depart, you need to walk about 15 minutes to the closest subway station, which will not be easy if you have a big suitcase or if it rains. They seemed to have a lot of inexperienced staff working there without any proper training. The answer from one staff was always different from the other one. For example, we did not have any slippers in the room so we asked the front desk girl and she said the hotel does not provide slippers, which is not common in Japan. After a while, we asked another girl and she got us a pair from the store room. There is only 1 elevator in the whole building. Their rate is not high but if you are willing to pay a little more, you will find some other...
