Dotombori Crystal Hotel II — Hotel in Osaka

My stay here was very enjoyable and relaxed. From check in to check out, the customer service of the clerks were extremely friendly and professional, they always greet me when I enter and leave the hotel. Also, front desk clerk Taniwaki helped me with sending my luggage to my next hotel and was very patient and kind. 5 star customer service for sure!

The rooms were a bit on the smaller side, but all the amenities were provided and the cleanliness was good. Room service will not clean your room unless you ask them to if you are staying for a few days. The wifi is specific to your room, so while it was fast and reliable in the hotel room, it wasn’t usable in the lobby.

There were two things that, while I was completely fine with, may be issues for other people. First, the location is at least 15 minute walk from the nearest subway station. So while it was quiet and relaxing at the hotel, there is a substantial walk to go anywhere. However, the proximity of the family mart and a local bakery makes up for it.

Second, they have a smoking patio that opens up right to the dining area of the lobby. If you enjoy getting takeout food and eating it in the dining area, the smell of cigarette smoke can be over powering.

Other than these two points, everything else was amazing for the price. Shout out again to the friendly customer service, and I would stay here again on my next trip...

THEY ARE THIEVES

Everything was good and dandy with this hotel but they will steal your belongings. Heed my words, Ive been to lots of Japanese hotels and they usually are very friendly and accommodating with items that you forgot inside your room after checkout. They will usually even call you and ship it to you if they find something that you forgot. But this hotel stole some of our items. We were 100% sure we left the items there and kept calling them, but they keep denying that they saw something which means the staff or someone that works there stole it.

Some of the guests there when asking for room service also reported similar things so I don’t recommend this hotel at all.

If you really need to stay here and have no other choice, be sure to take everything with you when you leave unless you want something of value stolen.

Its sad because The hotel is at a very nice spot and location where you can access lots of nearby attractions.

The rooms are not the best but they will suffice.

Just find another one...

We were really impressed with the service - the staff were always very helpful. The location was really convienent. Even in the hot summer weather we didn't mind the short walk to the main shopping/food/entertainment area. Though not sure how close the nearest convience store was in comparison to our other hotels in Japan. The hotel is next to a main road but we didnt have issues with noise. |We got the breakfast one day which was great and definitely the best value breakfast from our trip. |The only downside was that the room was very small, by far the smallest of all the rooms we stayed in during our trip. It did still have everything you need but we just found it difficult from a luggage perspective as there wasnt anywhere to store our clothes but we didnt have anywhere to open our suitcases except by putting them on the bed.
