Spouse and I went here for dinner sometime last week and we both think it's the best roux curry and soup curry we've ever had. We tried another soup curry elsewhere in our short time in Sapporo and the flavor of the soup at Cafe de Spice is far superior. The chicken in the soup is fall-off-the-bone tender and not dry. I just kept wanting to drink more of the soup curry by itself, and I rarely care to drink just soup without rice or noodle, let alone curry. The roux curry was also super tasty and my spouse gave it a "chef's kiss" gesture. We also ordered the karaage, which came with a bit of spice/herb mix that you dip/ sprinkle on the chicken. Very tasty. The chef sells the spice/herb mix in little bottles, so we bought a couple to use when we get home.
The place is super small and seems to be run by just the chef working alone, so the wait can be awhile during busy times is my guess. But she seems to be working hard and making delicious food. So kudos to her. Overall, well worth the visit and both the curry soup and roux will probably be on our minds for years to come as the best...
Read moreThe food and the drinks were really good. We ordered refreshing white peach lassis which went perfectly with the Wagyu Beef curry and the chicken curry. Another thing that I highly recommend is the soup-curry. The cozy restaurant offers three kinds of soup-curries. We decided to have a chicken soup-curry and a seafood soup-curry. The meat was very tender and the chicken was seasoned very good. I didn't know that soup would match curry but after this experience I was totally overwhelmed. Every dish had it's own taste and story to tell. I also liked the ambience because the restaurant was small and comfortable. The atmospheric is so calming after a long day. Everyone will find something to eat because every creation is unique! So sit back, relax and enjoy a local taste...
Read moreDine in on 1st November 2023 around 11.30am. Total 6 of us. Food portion is big and delicious. Price reasonable. Atmosphere cozy and comfortable. 2 ladies that operate the restaurant is super friendly and nice. We are not local and we can't speak Japanese and they are trying to best to understand and fulfill our needs. They served 4 big fried chicken and we can't finish it. They are very observant by looking at our body language and use Google translate to let us know that we can take away the chicken. This is really extra miles and appreciated. We will be coming back again for sure. Do visit this restaurant if you're at sapporo. Highly...
