Curry rice and small soy sauce ramen 1200 yen Ordered noodles hard. It was a stable taste! Maybe it's because I'm getting older, but I can't eat a lot by myself anymore. Next time, I'll order a small curry rice and a small soy sauce ramen for the same price! It has been 30 years since I first came here! The handprints of Nagoya's Twin Sisters, Kin-san and Gin-san, are still alive and well in the restaurant! Everyone at the shop seems to be in good health, and we hope they will continue to do so for many years to come.

The shop's black telephone is also still in good health! I was surprised to see that they are still in use!

Whenever I stop by Sapporo, I always stop...

Worth a visit togt with seafood meal at Nijo market.

Touted as the original Sapporo ramen started in 1947. Near one of the entrances into Nijo market, quaint set up of bar and “alley way”. Run by a friendly couple. Straightforward ramen - miso, shio (salt), shoyu (soy sauce).

Like that they offer small/regular sizes. Tried the recommended shoyu ramen. Broth was flavorful and thin noodles...

Classic Sapporo ramen in an unassuming restaurant in Nijo Market. I got the shoyu ramen with a side of curry rice, which was delicious (and perfectly complemented by a bottle of Sapporo!). Price was very reasonable. Be aware that the owners don't allow photos inside the restaurant itself, apart from closeups...
