I'd only recommend Jacksonville to locals or long term residents in the Sapporo area who want a decent burger at any cost. But if you're just visiting and are used to burgers in North America or Europe, this place may feel overhyped and overpriced. I took the double bacon cheeseburger plus fries and they were fine, but that's it. I didn't find the patties small like other reviews said, but mine were overcooked (an option for medium-rare would be good). The fries portion is miniscule. Their craft beer selection is great, admittedly. But I was just left thinking it was a waste of a meal. There are SO many food options in Japan, if you're not visiting for very long, there is ton of other stuff that should be on your list ahead of this. Just to put it into perspective: the previous night I tried the local curry soup and didn't like it, but at least it was something new to check off the list, some kind of lesson learned. Why go for a decent - at - best version of what you get back home? I dunno, your mileage may vary, and if you absolutely need a burger fix and don't want to go to Mickey D's I...
Read moreFound a gem here. I currently live in Japan, so good American burgers are sometimes craved. It also fills that homesick void, but I digress.
Amazing, and I mean amazing food. After a long day of exploring and hiking, I stopped by for dinner. Once you walk in you'll be greeted by a warm owner and a cool space.
I was recommended the western BBQ burger, a no. 1 here. I also ordered am imported Portland, Oregon beer. The burger was beyond what I expected. The onion rings were so crispy and full of flavor. The beef was juicy and full if flavor. In fact, the entire burger was just full of flavor. Everything blended so well with each other. The Hokkaido potato wedges were also delicious. I devoured everything. The beer paired so well with the meal.
Overall, this is a fantastic place. The staff are very kind and helpful. The vibes here are great. The owner has a great selection of music playing.
Please, give this place a go. I highly recommend. It's an American inspired burger joint, but very uniquely Hokkaido-an, Hokkaido-in? It's all Hokkaido...
Read moreA cozy, friendly restaurant with very delicious burgers. We arrived at about the end of the lunch rush (maybe 12:30 ~ 13:00) and waited around 5 minutes for a table. When we first arrived the restaurant was full and crowded, but after a short while the crowd cleared out. There’s a small seating area outside if you have to wait. The burgers are huge. I tried the avocado cheeseburger and my friend had the Western BBQ burger. Both were excellent. They were prepared very quickly and we could smell them while they’re cooking. We also ordered a vanilla milkshake. While it wasn’t as thick or as creamy as America’s milkshakes, I still recommend it. The presentation is perfect down to the cherry on top! I’m not sure if the staff speak English, but the menu is entirely written in English so don’t be afraid to stop in and...
