I stayed in Sapporo view hotel for one night as a family, it was our last day in Japan. To be honest there is nothing really exciting in this hotel. Check-in took a long time. It is quite modern and you can book different types of rooms --- modern or traditional Japanese rooms, with tatami mats. We lived in the traditional Japanese room. It is a little bit small but there is everything. When we entered the rooms there was a really unpleasant smell at the entrance. The wooden chairs smell terrible as well. There were no free bottles of water or kettle. Instead they gave tea bags which is very weird as there is no hot water available. The tatami beds are comfortable but you might need to adjust to the hard bedding underneath. Pillows were too hard. In the end I tossed and turned for 2 hours before falling asleep, without using the pillow. The toilet is clean, with a bath and shower place. Very small sink, barely had enough place to put items on. The hotel provides toothpaste and toothbrush, so that was a relief. But if you are looking for good wifi, DO NOT go to this hotel. The wifi was horrendous --- most of the time it was 1 bar and it took 10 minutes for the wifi warning thing to disappear on clash of clans.
The hotel doesn't have a swimming pool, spa service, hot tub, sauna or fitness centre. Very boring. There is a cafe where you can eat but the waiters speak terrible english and could not understand anything. It was my mum's birthday and we wanted to order a cake at the cafe, we repeatedly told the waiter that we wanted to cut the cake into 5 pieces. After a long time they understood, but took even longer time to prepare the cake. It tasted ok but was too sugary.
The location of the hotel is extremely good, that is the only reason why I even give this hotel any stars. It is near many convenience stores such as Lawson and 7-11. It is also just a 10-minute's walk from the big shopping malls. Bic camera (big store where you can buy just about everything, there is no tax) is also right next to them. However right next to the hotel is the crazy beer festival which goes on from 2pm to 9pm.
I would not recommend this hotel but only go if you really need to. The only good thing is the location if you want to buy...

The staff were wonderful, very helpful and always polite (a Japanese custom is always being polite). Beds were very comfortable although the Japanese pillows take a bit of getting used to, full of what feels like beads, but once your head is moulded into the pillow they are very comfortable. I booked a room with two chairs and a table which was very comfortable. Room was on the top floor with views out over Sapporo and to the mountains surrounding Sapporo. The room was very quiet so getting to sleep and sleeping through the night was never an issue. The on suite bathroom had a full sized bath, Japanese style toilet with wash facility, basin and enough toiletries to last a few months, which can be replenished daily. There was a coffee machine in the room, so you could have fresh brewed coffee daily. On the ground floor of the hotel is a restaurant where they serve breakfast, if you have booked breakfast included, I opted not to. There are many places within walking distance to eat. There is also a laundry room on the 3rd floor (600 yen to wash and dry a small suitcase (5kg) of clothes) and a washing machine, dryer, microwave oven and vending machine on 12th floor. On the 6th floor there are more vending machines. The hotel is located on Odori Park, which at the time of the year (November/December) was full of illuminations. At other times of the year it host several events, ice festival in February and beer festival to name two. Close to transport links and the famous Tanukikoji Shopping Street, which starts few blocks behind the hotel and covers about 900m of...

Upon getting to the hotel we saw a sign saying that the hotel parking space was full. We were a bit annoyed at the lack of notification prior to arrival. The parking attendants, however were very apologetic and even spoke to us in English (for the most part) and directed us to an alternative parking lot not far from the hotel. They even asked to take our bags in while we parked.
Getting our keys at reception was rather quick and easy. The hotel itself looks rather upscale and we appreciated the last minute luck in booking it. We got a room on the 10th floor, it was a nice view going up in the elevator with floor to ceiling view. Initially the room was rather elegant with all the basic amenities: free WiFi, mini fridge, toiletries, blow dryer, kettle with green tea available. There was even coffee available for a fee of 200yen.
The room was rather spacious. We had a decent sized closet for our things. A desk with a chair and a small couch set with twble by the window. Mind you our view was of the buildings next door but that wasn't a concern for us. After settling in we noticed a few things that were off about the room and general aesthetics of the hotel. The carpeting and foot of the walls were scuffed. There was a stain in the small couch in the room and the handle in the shower has cracked the tiles surrounding it on the wall.
Overall our stay was pleasant and I wouldn't mind staying there again, with more time to explore the services offered by the hotel. They have restaurants, a spa and...
