We arrived slightly past 11am (opening time). The place was about 60% full with what seems to be mostly locals. They have an english menu with serial numbers and you order using a sheet of paper. By 12nn there was already a short queue.
This is hands down the best sushi joint i had in my time in sapporo. I would take this over any of the kaisendons i had. Everything was good but i must highlight the bluefine tuna. Despite being a lean tuna, it melts in your mouth with no aftertaste whatsoever. In my humble opinion it rivals entry level omakase maguro, but is available at an unbelievably low price point of just 504¥ for 2 pcs. Special shout out to the crab soup, which for 495¥ comes packed with crab that actually has meat for you to enjoy.
If i were to come back to sapporo this would be a must-go IMO. This is unbeatable value with excellent quality. My only regret was not giving this place a shor earlier and it would have saved me a lot of pain from subpar kaisendon...
Read moreI had a pleasant experience here! There was no queue on a tuesday 12.30pm. The service was prompt, friendly and they spoke english quite well. English menu was provided. The variety here is awesome, they have almost everything you'd expect at a sushi restaurant but a little more. The crab miso soup is a must try! The crab taste is strong and wonderful. I love it!! The scallop sushi is a little special because they stack 2 pieces of half sliced scallop on one nigiri, so it is a little bit like a mountain and feels huge in your mouth.
All the seafood here are fresh, top tier and cut professionally like at a high end sushi restaurant. I love the price, variety and quality! If you're looking for quality sushi but not at a high end place, this is for you! We spend about ¥133,000 for 3 pax. Some extra items were not in the photo. As a sushi connoisseur from Singapore, this is a wonderful...
Read moreSuperb. We only have enough Japanese to be polite and respectful. But the service was considerate and open-minded. We benefited from a numbered English-Japanese sushi menu. The experience was perfect as an urban cosmopolitan upbeat bright seafood resto. There were usually four or five sushi chefs behind the U-shaped counter. We worked primarily with Naohiro Sato and Kazuya Kanda. Both were magically skilled with knife, rice, fish, and shellfish. They were also friendly and good humored with our attempts to identify preferences. The double fresh scallops were unrivaled in our years of appreciation for Japanese cuisine. The Hokkaido sweet taste, texture and size unrivaled. We ate here three times because it was that good. Thank you Masters...
