In my last days in Japan, I was craving for a good wood fired pizza and looking at some pictures and seeing they won an award - I popped by as people say food in Japan is always of a good standard but boy was I wrong.
I was seated and asked if the large pizza and a pasta was too much for 2 and was suggested a medium which I took and the medium pizza was astonishingly small for any standards, and after paying 3k yen for a margherita, I already knew we were severely overpaying. The other dish I ordered was a 150g steak which came extremely cold and not tender at all. The wedges felt no better than the microwave pack from Grocers.
In the end I was even charged an additional service fee which I feel is not a norm in Japan as this was my first time, though they had written it in small text in the menu, I felt it was misleading.
The issue is not the price but every meal in Japan is so precious because there are amazing people out there putting in a lot of heart and soul in their food and it really annoys me that one meal got wasted in this restaurant.
I highly recommend looking elsewhere. Susulino is a hub of food - pls don’t...
Read moreA cute Italian spot. We got a sauteed chicken thigh dish which came with slivers of almonds that I wasn't very fond of and a bit of mashed potatoes and a broccoli - the portion size seemed pricy for how much food it was (compared to the other dish prices here, but understanding it was a big piece of meat), but it tasted great.
We also shared a medium mushroom pizza with garlic and prosciutto-- the crust was great but the slice itself fell apart and was a bit soggy - the mushrooms were a bit on the soggy side too and there weren't as many as I hoped. The prosciutto was dry. But overall the pizza had good flavor and it was enjoyable. My friends liked their pasta dishes and apparently the garlic bread is really good. I also got a ginger mango mocktail- it was good but didn't have as much ginger flavor as I'd hoped. Overall this place is good especially if you're from out of town and looking for something that's not...
Read moreMargarita pizza was tasty and awesome. Some people say the hardest thing to do is making a simple dish awesome and in my opinion, this hits the mark. Margarita pizza is a staple in most restaurants and it can often be neglected. But this was simply tasty and comforting. The star has to be the dough. It was fragrant, crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside.
The pasta was fungi pasta made al dente and creamy. If you are looking for a place to hide from the cold, this place will warm up your...
