The Sapporo Beer Garden, Day three
First order of the day was to get a pair of replacement shoes, a corn was too demanding & shoes to tight, found an amazing store (Shoe-Plaza) and they had my size, trip saved!
Now that I could potter along, the boss suggested we try the Sapporo Beer Garden!
Off we went, and once again, driving in Japan is such a pleasure, I wish we had that kind off attitude, courtesy and all in Singapore & Malaysia! But I think there is a fat chance that will ever happen! 😢
The Beer Garden, right next to the Beer Museum, had both inside & outdoor seating, we opted for the outdoors, albeit overcast it was still very comfy!
Service was swift, our server spoke decent English helped us with our order (normally they put a pad in your hands & you click & order)
The place specialises on Lamb, but beef, seafood & veggies also available, albeit a small selection!
You cook yourself, on the grill pretty much the same as Korean BBQ, which is fun & you always have the hottest food to savour!
The beer of course was exceptional, perfect for this type of cookery!
We had Squid & Prawn for madam, the squid was perfect!
Me of course Lamb shoulder sliced, they had the set called Genghis Khan which included veggies, I added the Beef fingers as they called it, plus a baked potato of sorts, with butter, best I had in years!
But be aware, only one type of sauce/dip served, had a bit of a teriyaki flavour!
Food was good, service perfect, over all ambience Smokie but fun!
Value for money for sure! We enjoyed this, and it sees to be a massively popular spot for the locals! (Indoor seating 90 minutes wait, but advance reservation accepted!

Read moreWe arrived at 520pm with no reservation and was told it will take 90min so we went for it, 90 came and asked and informed 10 more minutes, came and still had to wait then 2hrs came and was told that we can go to another restaurant after 2 hrs wait so my wife informed them that they should have told us 2hrs ago that the restaurant won't be able to accommodate us so we were told that we have to wait more but after 5 mins we were told that seats is available, voila miracle, I guess the guy got scared when my wife raised her voice earlier.
Now come the order part, since we got in close to 8, we were told we can only order until 840 cuz they closed at 9, which is fine since the selection was limited, didn't want to pay the 5k meal if I only have 40 mins to enjoy it so went with the 4k meal.
Not familiar with the history of the restaurant if they are always this busy but I think they got more busier with all the YouTuber that is going around about the restaurant, that's how I knew about it but the meat are OK nothing to write home about. I had some genghis meat in a diff AYCE place and don't taste any different.
I won't recommend this place if it is just for the meat unless you want to be part of the bloggers, I guess one time is fine just for blogging purposes.
So for ratings: Wait is 0 star, make reservation Ambience is 0, if they are that busy don't they have money to buy more exhaust. Smoke is all over the restaurant. Food is a 3 star Service is 1 star. Came and took your order and came back to give you your bill.
Overall impression, probably not coming back I will just try a...
Read moreAmazing! We took a special trip to Sapporo specifically to visit the beer factory. It did not disappoint. The gardens were a short cab ride (1,100Y) from Sapporo station. Upon arrival, we were directed to the museum. This was to select our restaurant as there are four available. We wanted the beer hall. Had to wait a short time, but allowed us to grab a souvenir T-shirt. The beer gardens were next to the museum. We walked over and were greeted on entry. The hall is large. Room for about 150 people. Two floors. The giant beer kettle watches over everyone. Shining gloriously in the room, it screams at you to have yet another mug of liquid heaven. Also, the only place you can get Sapporo Classic - original recipe Sapporo beer - is on the island of Hokkaido. Dinner prices range from 2,000Y - 7,500Y. That’s for all you can eat. The more you pay, the more variety in items. That price is for food only. If you want drinks, you pay 1,650Y per person. Note that all people at the table pay that price. Regardless of alcohol or nonalcoholic drinks. Ordering is done through a tablet at the table. Fairly easy to navigate. NOTE - dining is yakiniku style - you grill your own food in the beer hall. They give you a plastic bag for your purse/manbag. And a paper bib for your shirt. However, I highly recommend wearing clothes that you don’t mind getting soiled with grease. It’s everywhere in the hall. The floor can get slippery too. Overall, I had a fantastic time. I staggered out of the hall after having several mugs of delicious beer. I highly recommend visiting the Sapporo beer hall if you...
