I went to this place because it is halal and because of the flying reviews. I live and work in Japan so I've been to a lot of halal ramen places so I quite have an expectation for the flying reviews ramen at this place.
The food prep area isn't the cleanest. The male worker (looked indian) picked up a broom from the floor with his bare hands and then went behind the counter to prep the food (no gloves and since I was watching him, I know for sure he did not wash his hands). it was disgusting but I didn't tell anyone else who were there with me at that time.
The ramen noodles was not fresh- it was the dried ones and the workers had to boil the ramen first (like spaghetti). HUGE dissapointment. I highly recommend Honolu Ramen @ Shinjuku for the real, tasty, fresh halal ramen.
portion was huge (of course since they are dried boiled ramen) however with only super thin, tiny 2 slices of chicken. You basically are eating "instant ramen" with hardly anything in the soup. Such a huge difference with the generous amount of chicken slices at Honolu ramen @ Shinjuku. The photo attached with the 2 slices of thin chicken is all you get for this huge bowl of ramen.
the restaurant is out of the city so if you are going for the authentic ramen taste, that's a waste of time. The price for a bowl of spicy ramen is ¥950. of you want to eat boiled ramen in a huge bowl of broth with hardly any chicken pieces then you might like this place. otherwise don't waste your time going.
Reviews can be deceiving so I got deceived by the reviews here. My only thought is that these are tourists who might not get to experience good halal ramen yet in Japan.
Since coming to this place and experiencing the worst ramen I've had in Japan, I would never recommend anyone here. I do strongly recommend Honolu ramen though. They have another branch in Osaka and their ramen is absolutely and amazingly delicious with generous chicken slices and eggs on top.
Photo attached is the dissapointment ramen from Ayam Ya Ramen. the 2 small thin slices of chicken is all you get from the big bowl of not fresh ramen noodles.
You can check my review on Honolu Halal Ramen Osaka and Tokyo and look at the difference of the ramen from these 2 restaurants. Just giving my honest review, ikhlas for people to get the real value for money and for the authentic real ramen taste in Japan.
replying to restaurant's reply: I HAVE EVIDENCE OF THE MAN NOT WEARING GLOVES BUT I WONT PUBLISH THE PHOTOS HERE. the Indonesian lady had gloves on but not the man- on and off with his gloves. and being arrogant is not the way to do business but work on the comments to be better! I have made a decision never to go or recommend anyone to your place so thanks for your suggestion for not going to eat at ayam ya ramen...
Read moreOne of the few chicken ramen places in Tokyo. Since this is a halal food pace run by Indonesian owner/staff , they don’t serve pork. Most times are chicken such as ramen , dumpling and spring roll. Samsa is beef. The spicy shio chicken ramen was good , a change in spice level and taste from the regular ramen joints. I guess they have influenced the dishes with an Indonesian touch. The ramen tasted well but I believe the chicken char siu would taste better if it’s maybe slowly cooked , or maybe use a different variety of chicken. This is in comparison to the several much better quality chicken served at ramen joints across japan. It lacked vegetables so it would be nice to add some veggie into it. The dumplings were fried and good and it’s rare to find chicken dumplings. Incase you are craving for some fried chicken dumplings you can hit this place. The spring roll surprisingly was better than expected and is recommended to try. As an improvement recommendation , I think they could make the place more hygienic, I noticed the staff not wearing gloves while cooking and serving and occasionally would touch their head /hair. So it would be better to take care of...
Read moreA lot of reviews say that this place is great, but I'm going to be honest - its just ok.
Service quality - Standard wait time of 20-30mins, but there's hardly anyone helping customers on the vending machines. They should really consider hiring a part timer or more staff for the place to serve people's orders and needs.
Food - The flavour of the thin chicken broth was good. Personally I prefer thicker broths but this was still good. The chicken chashu was underwhelming. The noodles was probably the best part. A shame that the soft boiled eggs was sold out (weird for a ramen place). Didn't get our sides as they were waiting for a restock.
Place - Its spacious, it has a prayer room and its cozy. Best part overall abt the place.
Feedback to owner: Should seriously consider stepping up on the staff numbers and service quality for starters. Its also a huge letdown getting told that some food items are not available. Sure, the food is halal and its good but for the long run, please consider these little things. They will go...
