Might get it again if I’m really hungry with no other options but I won’t be getting their phos. While watching her prep my banhmi, I couldn’t help but notice pots of pho noodles soaking on the kitchen floor! I got their number one banhmi special to go. The bread was really good quality but I didn’t really enjoy the soggy texture in the middle. Not sure if it was a paste that they added or if I let their sauces sit a minute too long while getting home. Also thought it was a little strange that the spiciness was not evenly distributed throughout the sandwich. It was almost sweet on the first half and got “spicier” at the end… On a more positive note, the sandwich was still warm by the time I got home 30 minutes later and I was the portion was a good size. A little funny interaction, there were two of us waiting for our orders and unknowingly I though the one she just finished was for me. I don’t think she knows Japanese because instead of telling me it’s not mine, she just made dissatisfied grunts and...
Read moreI came here to eat last night for the first time and was quite surprised that in a Vietnamese restaurant, there were mostly Chinese customers. The restaurant is quite small compared to my imagination, moving around in the restaurant is a bit cramped and difficult, feeling a bit stuffy. I ate BUN BO HUE and the taste did not disappoint me, very similar to the taste of bun bo hue in Vietnam, with the price of 1030 yen/bowl, it would be nice if there were more vegetables to eat with it. After I finished eating, I also ordered another bowl of Hue beef noodle soup to take home for my man and he also liked it. Highly recommend Hue style beef noodles 「ブンボーフェ」.
I will try the “bánh mì” next time to see if it is the same meaning as the name of the restaurant “Banh mi ngon ngon” (美味しいバインミー) or it could be “Bun Bo...
Read moreI'm pleasantly surprised by how good pho is here in Japan. Went to K town and couldn't decide on what to eat when I came across Banh MI Ngon Ngon. I have been in Japan eating Japanese food for over two weeks, so I wanted to eat something a little different.
You order at a kiosk and give your tickets to the workers before you take a seat. We ordered the fish cake vermicelli and half sandwich. The pho broth was legit, and the ingredients were fresh and flavorful. Both my wife and I thought that the pho tasted very authentic, like something her mom would have made back home..
Overall, I was impressed with the quality of the pho, and I would definitely go back if you want to try something different in Japan. FYI, workers are vietnamese and a lit of vietnamese customers, which are...
