Great retro mom and pop coffee shop with yummy cakes. Waseda students frequent this cafe and it’s quite popular in the area. For this visit I came on a Saturday in late afternoon, we had to wait about 15 minutes to get seated. Nothing was in the cake display but they had freshly made cakes coming out as we sat down (cheesecake and pound cake if I recall). Staff was relatively nice but seemed extremely busy.
I got the pound cake and a black coffee. The pound cake was fruity and had a rum/liquor taste to it. The cheesecake was still warm (my friend wasn’t pleased with it since she likes her cheesecakes chilled but as it was fresh out of the oven that would have been hard to avoid, I personally wouldn’t have minded if it were me). The menu only has a few drink options (standard ones like cafe latte, Vienna coffee, black coffee and so on), no soy or dairy-free alternatives for drinks unfortunately.

Even though they don't serve espresso based stuff like Cafe Latte, the coffee is rather delicious - maybe brewed a little too hot, but still really delicious. The atmosphere is cosy and a little bit retro, in a good way. Owner and staff are very friendly and easy going, adding to the positive experience.

Me being German, I have high standards when it comes to cakes 😉, but they are really top notch. Customers are mostly younger to middle aged Japanese women, but also some foreigners - probably students of nearby...

This cute kissaten is baking delicious cakes everyday. They use seasonal ingredients so there is a large variety of cakes all year round. The café is nearby Waseda university so it tends to be crowded but it has a very nice cozy atmosphere where you can relax and enjoy a nice coffee/tea time with a delicious cake.
The tart tatin and the blueberry cheesecake are highly recommended! The pound cake is also amazing!
