California Wine & Italian Blue — Restaurant in Tokyo

I stumbled upon this place after another restaurant refused to seat us. The staff here were kind enough to provide a table, even though we were only ordering drinks.

This restaurant specializes in Californian wines, with a selection spanning from Mendocino County all the way down to San Diego. The sommelier was highly knowledgeable and asked us for our preferences before making recommendations.

I requested a malolactic fermented white wine, and he provided a Chard22 that perfectly met the request. I then asked for a quintessential Napa Valley Meritage red, and they offered a Whitehall Lane Rassi, a Cabernet Sauvignon that was perfectly fruit-forward with a light oak influence. Lastly, we wanted a Pinot Noir in the style of Carneros Valley/Burgundy. They didn't have an open bottle, so we received a Central Coast Pinot Noir, which was nonetheless fine.

While I cannot speak to the food, I can comfortably recommend this restaurant based on the kindness and expertise of the staff. It would be an excellent choice for any Californian expat missing home or anyone looking for Italian food paired with superb...

Tucked away on the 5th floor of a very unassuming building was this incredible Italian fusion restaurant.

Chef made his job look effortless cooking in an open kitchen, we sat on the bar seats and watched him cook for 20 odd people simultaneously without breaking a sweat and holding conversations with a few people at the bar.
