I'm going to tell one good point and one bad point.
Last Tuesday was the last day of my trip in Tokyo. Me and my friend went to this restaurant at lunch time. We were the first customers of the day.
Actually, I can't eat raw fish though, my friend loves sushi. I had thought they has other menu like tenpura, baked scllops thing. But Matsukan has guided they sell just lunch meal 3,000yen or 3,500yen at lunch time.
I was little disappointed but we've ordered two 3,500yen lunch meals. And my friend ate all ^^ she did compliment its good quality, good tastes.
First of all, I was feeling sorrry for the chef made us sushi. He looked at me several times. He must have wondered why I didn't eat his sushi. Pride may have hurt him cause of me. If he read this article, sorry and your sushi was good as my friend said.
The bad point, at the lunch time, exept of us, other customers seemed to be familiar with this restaurant. And they could not order the lunch meal we should. I was disappointed this. Some people ate dishes which I can eat. People could choice whatever they wanted to eat.
They can have some rules for travellers. But I can speak Japanese a little and my friend know all sushi's name in Japanes. I did show some photos of menus(from Instagram) though, they said No, and just recommended the lunch meal.
Is it my...
Read moreA small sushi spot with mostly counter seating and 3 tables that seat 4, it appeared that they mostly offer omakase style (chef's choice) dinner, though you can ask for items ala carte, as well as informing them of items you don't like or want. My spouse speaks Japanese, so our party of 4 relied on her linguistic skills. Everything we had was delicious, even the stuff that we might bot have ordered otherwise (like the small baby fish, for example). We all also liked that it wasn't just sushi and sashimi being served, but the dining experience was interspersed with cooked items. We didn't know how the ambiance and dress code was going to be, but we noticed one person wearing a backward hat and shorts, so casual wear seems acceptable. It was not the super quiet sushi places we had been before, and I enjoyed being able to chat with our friends without having to speak in a hushed voice. At the end of the "set omakase", they will ask if you want to continue (aka are you still hungry). Anything else you want will be an...
Read moreThis was the only Sushi place I could find for Lunch in Azabujuban but as expected from the great rating, it was everything I was hoping for in a sushi lunch. To explain how it works for lunch, you can select any combination of 3000,4000,5000 yen before tax and 8,10,12 pieces. On top of the pieces selection, you get a Miso Soup and plate of maki sushi with tamagoyaki at the end of the meal. You can tell them any fish you can't eat so they will replace it with something else and if you are feeling adventurous it seems you can make your own course as some of the regulars there seemed to be doing! Strongly recommend if you are looking for a traditional sushi meal...
