Chinese Cafe Eight Azabu-Juban — Restaurant in Tokyo

We were pleasantly surprised when we discovered a Chinese restaurant in our local neighborhood of Azabujuban. On top of that, it is both a 24 hour spot, and serves Peking Duck! However, there are some caveats related to this restaurant that we keep in mind: they allow smoking inside, and there is no distinct division between smoking and non smoking seating, and there is a cooking time of "30-40 minutes " for the Peking Duck, though in our experience, it is closer to 50-60 minutes. The lunch sets seem to be ready quickly, and they are a good deal. The Peking duck set comes with Peking Duck, then a stirfry with the meat and some greens, and finally a soup with the bones of the duck (with vermicelli, tofu, and cabbage). Don’t waste your money or time here. We’ve been in Tokyo for over a month now from NYC and this was hands down our FIRST BAD MEAL.The pork fried rice was tasteless, gooey and filled with mostly chunks of just pork fat. The sweet, sour and spicy chicken was mostly fried dough (very little chicken) and was super sweet. The Peking duck crispy roll was filled with minced goop - it was left untouched. In addition, the staff was also the absolute worst. They brought our entrees and no drinks. We waited for quite some time before having to ask for our drinks (in a semi-empty restaurant) and our appetizer came when we finished our meal. This is our like 5th time at this place and they didn’t let us in bc we didn’t have masks on. Yes, I agree that this is pretty important in here, but sometimes some inconveniences happen and u can just lose ur mask and just accidentally wouldn’t bring it w u. So basically some guy just told us to get take out even tho the place was completely free at 3am. And there was no other options as other places usuallly had-smth like giving u the mask in case u forgot it.
