Highlights included perfectly crisp-topped pork belly and melt-in-your-mouth char siu that was delectably sweet. The seasonal vegetables were gently seasoned and balanced the richer flavors beautifully. The broth, clearly simmered for hours, delivered deep umami, while the fried dishes were crisp and the juicy items delightfully succulent.
Service was outstanding. Dining solo, I felt completely at easeâtreated like royalty and thoroughly spoiled on my special day.
Some dishes may seem âexoticâ to American palates: jellyfish, hamaguri, and abalone appeared on the menu. They were deliciously prepared but may require an open mind.
