My husband and I were thrilled to come across this highly recommended omakase during our recent trip to Tokyo! The exterior of the restaurant is so quaint and located in a small residential alley in Hatchobori. With a small and intimate setting (max 8 people), you really get to relax and enjoy the entire experience for 2 hours. The 2 hours flew by and the 20 course menu with drinks made my husband and I go back the next day with our cousin and her husband during lunch (thankfully there was an opening)! The sake pairing and when the non-alcoholic pairing were both so so SO great and tasty. Everything, including the host and of course the sushi chef was fantastic...If I had some more time I'd go for another round... it's that good despite the omakase price tag (although it's relatively more cost effective here than something I would experience in the U.S.). Seriously, do not hesitate to go... even with the very very little Japanese that we know... we didn't feel isolated and were fully immersed in the experience. This place is truly a gem and we're here for it! We'll definitely be coming back on our next trip to Japan! Check on availability about 30 days in advance to help you reserve a spot before you get here as a tip because this place is getting even...
Read moreA very personal food experience. The service was excellent and the setting intimate. Yu was our sushi chef, and these ladies and gentlemen really do give you an extremely satisfying experience (both culturally and for your stomach). The years of training that goes into being a sushi chef are reflected here - I felt like I was eating artwork, prepared directly in front of me. My partner and I highly recommend this experience, especially to a western audience who want something special. This was hands down my favourite experience of my most recent trip to Tokyo (May 2024). I'll share a handful of photos, but I assume these guys source fish of the day locally so the menu may be subject to change.
Additionally, I suggest going on an empty stomach. We left absolutely satisfied. And I have to say, Yu made our experience that little bit more personal, by walking us out and throwing fire stones over us for good luck.
If you aren't familiar with Japanese culture, it may be worth your time reading a little about food etiquette before you enjoy this.
The chefs also asked all patrons if they had specific allergies and adjusted the menu to each specifically....

The restaurant is not hard to find. Eight seats in total at a time. Upon arrival we were told that we must order a drink per person. Don’t order the hot green tea like me because this is also served at the end of the meal. The whole thing took about an hour and a half. Ours was a total of 15 pcs made by the chef in front of us and about 4-5 appetizers served in between. Uni can be ordered at the end if you prefer. Drinks are a bit pricy (¥500-¥900 per glass for non alcohols).
Not our first omakase experience but first in Japan. Had very high expectations and was disappointed. The food was just okay. It was very monotonous. The two kinds of tuna served stood out as well as the soft roe. Other than that, everything else was meh. We enjoyed watching the chef carefully prepare each one, she gave time for photos, etc. I wish the chef explained what she was preparing/adding a...
