It may look intimidating but this little cafe is an adorable place. The menu is not that long and the coffee is average ... but it's very small so you won't be bothered by too many people, the atmosphere reminds you of old time and the old couple owning the place are two lovely and funny people. They'll certainly give you little sembei, green tea with anything your order and free of charge. The service is great. If you speak Japanese don't hesitate to talk to them, they'll be happy to have a conversation. They have been living in kichijoji for a long time so they know well the place.

When I asked, she said she thinks it was built in Meiji times. Background music is Japanese radio. Smoker friendly, but I didn't notice any smoke now. No Wi-Fi. Rather nice coffee and average rice crackers. Calling it a high 4 stars for the flavor of history.
