We arrived at the restaurant for lunch and found four groups ahead of us in the queue. Since there’s no online registration, we registered in-store by adding our names to the waitlist for two people.
After securing our time slot, we left and returned later when our time slot started.
🍽️ Ordering Process Upon arrival, we pressed a ticket for the set meal we wanted to order. The restaurant offers only one menu: the "Hikiniku to Come Set Meal." This set includes three freshly grilled hamburgers (90g each, up to three for the same price), freshly cooked rice with unlimited refills, miso soup, one raw egg, grated daikon with ponzu, and various condiments.
An optional add-on of bonito flakes is popular among diners, who mix it with rice.
🔥 Preparation & Dining Experience The hamburg patties are finely ground in a cold room visible through a window to maintain freshness. The chef grills them on a charcoal grill in front of diners seated in a semicircle bar area. Once cooked, the patties are placed on your own mini charcoal grill at your table.
A unique feature is the wooden rectangular stick provided to track the number of patties eaten. Each person gets three patties, and the stick is flipped as you finish each one.
Each diner receives a sheet explaining the side dishes and eating instructions, which recommend specific condiments to pair with the meal.
🍖 Meal Highlights The set meal includes the standard three meat patties, a raw egg yolk, tonjiru miso soup, and rice. I appreciated the unlimited rice refills, as it soaked up the flavorful juices from the meat beautifully. The patties are slightly juicy, cooked to medium rare in the centre, which keeps them tender and highlights their rich, meaty flavour.
I particularly enjoyed pairing the patties with wasabi, which cut through the grease and enhanced the flavours. I ended the meal by mixing the meat juices with the hot rice—a truly satisfying way to finish.
🙌 Service & Atmosphere The service crew was extremely enthusiastic and efficient, adding to the overall dining experience. The combination of freshly prepared hamburg steaks, simple yet flavourful sides, and attentive service made this an exquisite and delectable meal.

Read moreAfter three persistent days of trying, I finally managed to secure a spot at this small but renowned restaurant. Nestled comfortably in a cozy setting that seats about ten, it’s a place where each meal feels personally crafted. The chef, stationed right before us at the grill, masterfully transformed simple ingredients into an unforgettable culinary performance. The famed burger steak, delicately flattened and grilled to a succulent golden brown, was presented in three exquisite variations. The traditional way over rice, letting the rich juices seep into the grains, was comforting. Dipping the second in a specially blended Japanese soy sauce enhanced the meat’s natural sweetness, offering a delightful contrast. The third, an inventive twist, was topped with a raw egg, merging flavors into a creamy delight that was both bold and inviting. Dining here wasn’t just eating; it was an engaging experience of flavors and warmth, made all the more special by the chef’s interactive presence. This hidden gem truly deserves all the praise and...
Read moreI got there at about 2:30pm and got really lucky because of a no-show, I only waited 5 minutes for a seat, otherwise it would be a waitlist until after 5pm. The host was super nice and friendly, suggesting me not to go too far because he might be able to get a set for me.
You use a vending machine to purchase tickets and basically everyone gets the $1800JPY dish that includes 3 beef patties + unlimited rice + miso soup, and a raw egg. The beef was so juicy and and it bleeds (not blood) into the rice. There is clear instruction both written and verbally explained to you on how to eat it. First one should be eaten plain while the others can add whatever sauces you want. The Lemon Pepper was my favorite, then the garlic flakes. Others are a little spicy. Very cool atmosphere with high ceiling and a rather communal table. Definitely a must go to if you are...
