Kōsenji Temple — Attraction in Tokyo

A must-see beautiful landmark to check out when visiting Tokyo ! They have some amazing, well-looked after gardens kept aesthetically neat and tidy.. it costs ¥500 to enter on the door however it was well worth it! So much wildlife and nature to soak in like the ponds with koi fish & lotus flowers, bees, butterflies, dragonflies, bonsai trees and lots more to see!

A wonderful place to take photos and scenic views for a walk around all the gardens. At the temple you must wash your face & hands to enter with clean hygiene before heading to the front of the main temple and showing your respect with 2 bows, 2 claps and another bow.

They also have a lovely variety of different charms that all signify different meanings. I personally purchased two gift charms one red symbolising good luck and the yellow meaning good fortune.

Again, for anyone visiting the city this is a top recommendation to check out and spend time at. Great energy & a spiritually pleasant atmosphere! ⭐️🪷☯️ zen...

東京都武蔵野市吉祥寺本町にある浄土宗　光専寺の御本尊・阿弥陀如来の直書き御朱印を頂きに参拝しました。

五日市街道沿いにある吉祥寺四軒寺のひとつで、浄土宗の寺のなかでも阿弥陀如来が御本尊なのはこの光専寺だけとのこと。

御由緒としては、観誉（寛文2年1662年寂）が創建したと言われていて、丁度明暦の大火により江戸吉祥寺門前に住む人々が焼け出され、この武蔵野の地に移り吉祥寺村を開村した頃のこと。

御本尊は阿弥陀如来像。

享保の頃、この地に疫病が流行した際、住職が子供たちの供養と延命を祈願して、箪笥を改造した厨子に地蔵を納めて巡礼したと伝えがある「箪笥地蔵」の像がある。
