Dachibin's food will rock your world! If this is a good representation of authentic Okinawan food, Okinawans have some of the best food on the planet!

I made a reservation and got to go in fairly quickly after they opened. They do have an English menu, but you may need to ask for it. The food is so good that the place gets packed nearly immediately after opening. It's boisterous, but in a good way.

The restaurant itself is something amazing to behold. You'll have to go inside to see. The menu is pretty cool too. Lots of thought went into everything.

I read awamori was the drink to get. Someone said it's not very alcoholic- this was not true. XD Unless the person was thinking hard liquor maybe? If I remember correctly, you are looking at anything from 25-35 proof. Dachibin has awamori from all parts of Okinawa. It's pretty cool, but makes it a tad daunting to order since none of it is translated. I asked for a random one. Poor guy didn't really speak English but got the gist of it. Afterwards I saw there was a coffee awamori. If I'm ever back there, I'll definitely try it.

I tried the basashi (raw horse meat), umi budo (sea grape), and the soki soba (pork spareribs udon). Wish I had room for goya champuru and goat. If I'm ever back, I'll try em. Every dish, including the one you get as soon as you are seated were an absolute delight for the taste buds. The chef I was seated by was such a cool guy that clearly enjoyed his work.

Despite the language barrier, everyone was patient and did their best. It was hectic, so I'm certain it was trying for them to have English speakers with limited Japanese, but they didn't make you feel that way. The place was very clean too. Highly recommend.
