The worst izakaya food experience we’ve ever had during our 3-week holiday in Japan.

We ordered gyoza, chicken thigh skewers, chicken gizzard skewers, wagyu grilled beef, grilled pork belly, fried rice, grilled salmon belly, tamago, and more. However, the food that arrived was completely different from the pictures on the menu.

The wagyu beef, pork belly and gizzard skewers were tasteless, hard, and were not served warm. The gyoza was not freshly made and the skin was soggy. Even the fried rice was not warm and it’s flavorless. The only food that is nice was the grilled salmon belly.

It’s shocking that this place has good ratings, which I suspect is due to the 5% discount they offer for positive reviews.

To make matters worse, there’s a hidden extra charge of ¥450 per person that wasn’t mentioned in the menu or advertisements. This was such a disappointing experience, and I wouldn’t recommend this...

In a weak moment after a day of walking Tokyo and overwhelmed by the crowds at Omoide Yokocho I allowed myself to be lured into this restaurant by a gentleman standing outside. If you are lucky enough to get the corner seat overlooking the streets then it’s at least giving you a great view of the lights and busy crossings. But the good stops there, service was prompt enough, with no frills. But the food was rather average. Charcoal chicken didn’t taste at all of charcoal and was bland. We left most of it behind. The skewers were nice but nothing special - the only option for skewers were chicken. And at the end of it all we were lumped with a 900yen/450pp Otoshi charge for some lettuce and cold chicken. While I’m now aware that’s relatively common with Izakayas, this seemed steep for subpar food and the total bill was close to what I’ve paid elsewhere at much nicer restaurants in Tokyo with...

I was really surprised by the high rating of this restaurant, but after dining here, I suspect many of the positive reviews were incentivized with discounts. The dining environment was poor, and one of the male staff members had an extremely bad attitude.

As for the food, both the presentation and taste were disappointing. We ordered two drinks—one had a strange taste, clearly not made with fresh lemon, and the other was supposed to be plum wine, but it tasted like diluted ice water with only the faintest hint of plum.

To make matters worse, there was an unexpected charge for a small dish that we were never informed about. It was not listed on the menu, nor was it mentioned when we placed our order. The staff only brought it up when we questioned the bill—if I hadn’t checked, I wouldn’t have even noticed.

Overall, a very disappointing experience. Definitely not worth the...

Food was bad. Service was on point, the staff was very helpful and their English is quite good. You’ll get a private room for dinner but the room was pretty small. We ordered deep fried chicken cartilage, gyoza, 1-day dried squid, tuna sashimi, and grilled mackerel. First, the chicken was a bit smelly (not sure if it’s because of the ice or what, but they didn’t smell fresh and normal). The chicken cartilages were very oily and not crispy at all. The 1-day dried squid tasted like normal squid instead of 一夜干 and lack of seasoning. The gyozas were also not freshly pan fried, but like they steamed and fried a long time ago. The skin was soggy. Honestly I’d prefer convenience store food to this. Not sure how it got a 4.3 stars on Google. Not recommended at all.

If you’re lucky enough to get the crossing window view that’s probably the best thing here, food was okay but their skewers were tiny size of my finger, 900 yen charge for an appetiser of 3 pieces of cold shredded chicken and tiny lettuce. there was one rude staff that felt like she didn’t want to even be in our presence when taking order and paying for meal. got told last order at 7pm before food even arrived and was told next reservation was coming within an hour of sitting and got kicked out when no one was arriving for the seat which means this seating is only for foreigners they bait in. our japan trip has been great but this was the worst experience so far.

This restaurant is on the 4th floor, very easy to get to and very cozy. They give you a booth like area to sit and the drinks and appetizers come out very fast. The drinks aren’t weak. The yakitori (chicken on a stick) was delicious, the sauce they put on it was phenomenal. The gyoza was extremely good. The fried rice was okay. When we left the bill did not match what we ordered. They gave us edamame and charged us extra for it even tho we did not order it.
