Small Rooms (Standard in Tokyo) with no fresh air support. You can open a window a little bit, but no ventilation. The room air is a little bit "Crispy". But beside of this: Great! Arrival: 3 am in the morning. A very very friendly guy welcome us in perfect fluent english... And luckily the one track escalator runs up so we don't need to carry our luggage the steps to the 2nd floor reception. No elevator from ground floor to lobby. Room: Cute. Air see intro. Small Bathroom. But anything well arranged. A room for sleep, not for spending the day. The Bowl is made for Aisan buts, not for my Queen size But, but usable. On the first day we had free water at the lobby, this was gone the next day. But there is a water dispenser (hot & Cold) at the Kitchen. Yes! There is a Kitchen for free use! And on the other side there is a Painting Studio and a biiiig Dj Pult with the right ambience for a club night. Sometimes there is party. Below this room there is the Beer (crafted beer) & breakfast dine in. Another restaurant (Burger) is at the Escalators. Great: There are loundry machines in the hotel! Not the cheapest way to clean your clothes, but veeeery comfortable. We paid something about 15 Euro for a complete week laundry and 4 separations (color, White etc) and drying. the reception can change your money into the needed 100Yen Coins, and can sell you little AllInOne bags of detergent good for one washing for 100 Yen each. But oyu can also buy your detergent outside, sometimes there is free in the laundry rooms. Laundry is only on Daytime. In the morning time there are some little snacks and Orange Juice in the lobby kitchen, but nothing great. a quick bite but no replacement for a breakfast. All together makes this Hotel a great stay for young people & backpacker. The Hotel is close to the "Tokyo kitten" and famous night entertainment and one of the maybe busiest railway stations in the World. Even if you close the window, you have city noise and 24/7 sirens and police cars and loud motorbikes and racing maseratis and anything. "Silent" is only for the old ones, not for this part of Tokyo....
Read moreOur experience at WPU Hotel in Tokyo exceeded expectations on every front. The hotel boasts exceptional staff, top-notch facilities, impeccable cleanliness, unparalleled comfort, and great value for money. What truly sets it apart is its superb location, which outshines other hotels we stayed at during our Japan trip.
The young vibe ambiance of the second-floor lobby, accompanied by awesome music and staff was appreciated. Despite the hustle and bustle of Tokyo and Shinjuku, our room, particularly Room 618, provided a surprisingly quiet retreat with a fun view of the dance studio across the street. Comfy beds with a good layout, given how small Japanese rooms tend to be. We often had the window open for air, but only then could you hear the hustle of Tokyo and Shinjuku, and it was part of the atmosphere. While the room initially felt warm, we easily adjusted the temperature by turning off the A/C and heated toilet, ensuring our comfort throughout the stay. The hotel's breakfast, featuring a selection of bread and juice, may be modest, but with at least three convenience stores within walking distance, we indulged in various Japanese 'Konbini' staples - which we are still dreaming of. The clean communal kitchen was great to watch the hustle of Tokyo in the sunshine and enjoy our food. Do try to dine out at Gyukatsu Motomura across the street.
The standout feature of WPU Hotel, however, is its exceptional staff. Every member we encountered was incredibly nice, helpful, and wore genuine smiles.
Lastly, let's talk about the unbeatable location. Navigating the city is a breeze, although the numerous subway gates presented an initial challenge, we quickly mastered the best route.
Shoppers: a word of caution - this is a haven for shopping and prepare to be tempted to buy new suitcases. We stumbled upon fantastic luggage deals at Ginza Karen and Ginza Life in different locations. Additionally, similar vendors /prices can be found along the outer part of the Asakusa temple in front of the "Asakusa...
Read moreThe location of this hotel is very good, just outside the B15 or B16 exit of Shinjuku Station. However, the exit signs at Shinjuku Station are not obvious. It took me about five minutes to find the exit after coming out of the Shinjuku West Gate. The hotel is cleaner and more spacious than I expected (hotels in Japan are very small and understandable). When checking in, you need to pay an accommodation fee of 400 yen. This time, there was no cash at all (you cannot pay via WeChat). You can pay by card, cash, etc. In the end, I paid with my watermelon card on my phone.Personally, I feel that the mobile phone Watermelon Card can basically cover 98% of consumption in Japan. The service staff at the hotel front desk speak good English, but they probably don’t have Chinese service. The hotel room is small but cleanBefore coming here, I encountered a huge bed bug outbreak in Japan, and I was very worried along the way.But luckily the hotel is very clean.Free breakfast is provided in the lounge area on the first floor of the hotel from 7-9:30 in the morning, but it only has some bread and the like. But it's pretty goodOverall, this hotel is very cost-effective.Book the cherry blossom season one and a half months in advance and it will cost about 600 yuan/night.Cleaning is done every day during your stay. But it felt like it was just cleaning up the trash and changing bath towels. The sheets and duvet covers should not have been changed. All in all, I will stay here if I still...
