Denied Entry at T2 Nightclub, Shinjuku – Racism Faced as Indian Tourists
On 17th May 2025, around 12:10 AM, my wife and I (Indian tourists visiting Tokyo) were denied entry at T2 Nightclub in Shinjuku solely on the basis of our nationality.
Upon arriving, we were stopped at the entrance and asked to show our passports. After confirming we were from India, the staff bluntly said, “No entry for Indians.” This wasn’t an issue of dress code, behavior, or capacity — it was direct racial discrimination. Meanwhile, other tourists — particularly white individuals from the U.S. and Europe — were allowed in right after us without issue.
We were shocked. Disgusted. In a country as culturally rich and globally respected as Japan, such blatant racism has no place. This is our first time experiencing such treatment in Japan — and it leaves a permanent scar on what was otherwise a beautiful journey.
This is not just a matter of personal offense — it is a serious issue of human dignity and equal treatment.
Tourists represent the spirit of international friendship — and no Indian, or person of any nationality, should face exclusion based...
Read moreSure! Here's a much longer review of T2 Nightclub in Shinjuku:
T2 Shinjuku is one of Tokyo’s most energetic and high-octane nightclubs, popular with both locals and international partygoers. Located in the heart of Shinjuku’s bustling nightlife district, T2 offers a visually striking, multi-level space packed with booming sound systems, dazzling lights, and a rotating roster of Tokyo’s hottest DJs spinning EDM, hip-hop, and top 40.
The club is known for its sleek, modern design, VIP sections, and stylish crowd. The dance floor gets packed quickly, especially on weekends, so arriving early or reserving a table is a smart move. Drinks are on the pricier side, but that’s standard for Tokyo nightlife. Bouncers can be selective, so dressing sharp and being respectful at the door helps.
Security is generally good, though it gets hectic late at night. The atmosphere is unapologetically wild—this isn’t a lounge for chill conversation; it’s a destination for dancing, letting loose, and meeting people.
If you’re looking for a flashy, high-energy clubbing experience in Tokyo, T2 delivers the full Shinjuku...
Read moreThis club is an absolute disgrace and should be ashamed to operate in a city as diverse as Tokyo. My friends and I were subjected to the most blatant and disgusting display of racism I have ever experienced. After examining our passports, the security staff laughed, mocked us, and flat-out denied us entry with no explanation other than their obvious prejudice.
Their behavior was not just rude but downright hostile. We were treated like criminals simply because of our nationality and appearance. The smug, condescending attitudes of the staff were revolting and made it clear that this is not a place for anyone who doesn’t fit their racist standards.
I have taken photos of the individuals responsible and will be filing a formal complaint with the authorities. Places like this should not be allowed to operate if they are going to treat paying customers with such cruelty and hatred.
Do yourself a favor and do not support this vile establishment. If you value respect, dignity, and basic human decency, stay...
