Hayakawa-tei — Restaurant in Tokyo

The staff was not as friendly as people say. When two of my friends and I went, there were maybe two seats open. The owner(?) told us right away they were full. Right then a group of customers that looked like they were done said they were going, and were trying to give us their seats. Then the same person told them to not go (in a no don’t worry about these people kind of tone). They may have been friends by the way they interacted.

It’s not so much that they didn’t let us sit that made it a bad experience. But more that the staff seemed like they were brushing us off. We weren’t even given an opportunity to ask if we could wait. The staff didn’t even look at us or talk to us after that one sentence. (My friends were Japanese and felt the same way.
