Hishakaku — Restaurant in Tokyo

Very bad service! 1: We wanted to request for the window seat, and the servant does not allow, he gave excuse that table has been reserved. However, we see 3 empty tables along the window somemore without ‘reserved’ note. 2: we came 4pax, and would like to order 3 courses (6500yen/each) and add some a-la-carte item, he rejected me, said must order 4 sets according to pax. I’m quite shock and replied it doesn’t make sense. I gave my point that what is we don’t order courses, all of us order 4 a-la-carte (1000-2000/pax) items, ist ok? Then he said that way is ok. Im like??? What is the logic?! It doesn’t make sense! I wanted to clarify with his manager, then he told me he is Masafumi, the manager. I ask him what is the reason not to allow us for a-la-carte order, he said its the shop rule! I cant accept that, and lastly he yield at us, ‘okok, i allow u to order a-la-carte!!!’ Hello, I’m not begging you for food, why u treat us like beggar! We always come to japan, and this time we were invited by JETRO for exhibition. Its my first time in my life of having such bad service in Japan. Soooo...

I did not know why the rating is low for this place (3.9) and decided to give it a try. Also, they were the only yakiniku place opened at lunch time near my hotel.

I was susprised when I visited. I ordered the premium lunch set. The quality of meat cuts were way above average. Eating it alone without any dips brought out the original great taste of the beef. Something only top grade meats can do. Condiments and dips were also praise worthy.

The restaurant is understaffed, but the one staff gave all the best effort she got to all the diners. She welcomed us, seated us, took our order, served us, and was also the cashier. She needs to be given a raise! Haha

The Wagyu beef was excellent juicy, flavorful, However, the service was frustrating, We waited an unusually long time for our meat, so long that we had already finished the rest of our meal before it arrived.
