Discrimination Service! I got to gaienmae before 11 and started queueing up in front of Kihachi for the terrace seating. When I was directed to a table assigned by the staff at the entrance, I was the only person getting the table close to the window side. Yet there were still empty table on the porch closer to the trees. I was told I cannot choose table, but people lined after me were directed to the tables under the trees, which are mostly expected by the customers. I called one young female waitress and told her I want to move to the empty table out there (at that time two people were being directed to sit down), she completely ignored me, yet there is one more table available. Then people kept coming in and sitting down on the outer terrace side. My disappointment came to the maximum. I went to the front and tried to talk to the staff who initially directed to seat me at that table. By the time all tables were taken, water being served. Who is going to get up and give up their table?! Of course I would not dare to ask her to ask anyone to get up, I just want to let her know that it is not fair for me, period! People lined up for the terrace seating almost an hour before the opening time, customers should be filled in with their desired tables. I was the only person who were directed to a table out of order! That’s what I was not happy about. Between hours of 11:30-14:00 customers cannot order beverages and dessert only. Everyone must order meals, with starting price ¥2700 and up. Why can’t we choose a table as we wish? What kind of customer service is this?! I even spoke to a waiter who is an English speaker, and he told me he understood I must have felt I was being discriminated. YOU BET I DO!! I will not go to this...
Read moreGreat food and very friendly service. Maybe it was just today’s menu, but everything sounded great! The star was a thick beef cutlet with Raclette cheese poured on top! Great combo and the visual was nice when they brought the half wheel of cheese to your table and poured the melted part into the cutlet!!! Pasta was an al dente (possibly a touch before) and the tomato sauce was refreshing! The desert deserves a mention! This strawberry millefeuille was ridiculously good! The pastry had a nice bitterness that contrasted great with the light but creamy whip and the sweet and tart strawberries. Looking forward to...
Read moreBaby friendly, excellent service, good food albeit a bit pricey. Pretty, spacious terrace.
Ended up here as cafe next door was super busy and staff there weren't kind. Was pleasantly surprised at Kihachi and would return. Food a bit pricey but good, the cold soup was amazing. Service we received was excellent. Supposedly the fruit roll cake here is famous- was quite good but pricey. One of the Washrooms had a nappy change table, which was impressive. And they had baby high chairs too though we had to ask for it. The guy staff even helped with the door and stairs...
