I went to the Christmas market event and found that the food was really small and super expensive. Usually at these type of venues you get a decent amount of food but at this event, one dish was definitely not enough to fill someone up. However, they had an array of different dishes that you cannot find at usual restaurants. I had the beef stew inside a bread bowl And a blooming onion. My mother had the steak which was ¥1500 but it was only a thinly sliced steak about 100 g. Most of the people there were there for the drinks like the German beer and the hot wine. I had a cup of eggnog, something that I can never find! I love eggnog so I usually make it myself every year. As for parking, I parked at the Aoyama parking Lot located next to shake shack. This parking is the closest one and the cheapest! Don’t park at any of those coin parking type places! However, I found that many people were parking along the street which is the big street in front of shake shack for free! Of course, it’s a first come first serve basis and everybody was parked there. Next time, I’m definitely gonna park...
Read moreShinto shrine dedicated to the divine soul of Emperor Meiji and Empress Shoken, established November 1920. It is surrounded by a beautiful forest and gardens; around 100,000 trees have been donated from all over Japan and planted by volunteers. The moment you walk in, passing the main gate, you will feel transferred to a different Tokyo- more peaceful, in balance with nature. The smell of trees, gentle cool and humid air and shade in the summer will help to rest from the heat, smell of pine in a winter will ease your breath. Don’t miss the inner garden (gyoen) that existed during Emperor Meiji life. The story says that he actually designed iris garden, small pond and paths for the Empress, to give her ‘fresh energy’. There is also a restaurant, a cafe and the vending machines if you want to stop for a refreshment. I recommend matcha latte (both hot and cold)- as I keep coming back for another one If you want to buy a charm or souvenir, there are 2 places on the grounds, that you can get it- one by the cafe and the other one on a way to exit towards...
Read moreWent here to watch the Tokyo Yakult Swallows. Got my ticket from 7-11 the morning of the game. Arrived a bit early to eat a wide variety of baseball stadium food, such as yakisoba, takoyaki, sausages, cheddar fries, a cheeseburger, pizza, and ice cream. I like to eat. Beer is 750 yen per cup. Soda is 250 yen. Other options are priced in between. Bathrooms are well placed. Make sure you keep your ticket stub handy at all times, as attendants may check it each time you re-enter your section. In hindsight, I didn't think the expensive seats were worth the extra price, because the stadium is small enough that most seats in the infield are closer enough to enjoy the game. Outfield seats may be...
