Gave 4 stars because they charge high taxes more than at an APA hotel, the hotel is in a hidden location you might miss it while looking for it, you have to walk a distance to get a taxi not close by, rooms don't come with toothbrush, toothpaste, razors, shower caps, hair ties, water, or teas in your room you must pick them from the lobby, breakfast is included but not worth the money you pay for. They do have basic foods like bread, croissants, muffins, pancakes, ham and butter, and heavier foods like chicken, fish, spaghetti, other Japanese foods, also water, tea, and coffee of course. The food is included in the price you pay but if you eat very little it's more affordable to eat out and with more options to choose from but that option of no food isn't given here. Service is 5 stars though, everyone is nice, the hotel is clean and hygienic, the cleaning people are punctual and make sure to clean every room by a certain time. Cleaning staff are very polite and knock on your door while asking permission before trying to enter your room. I like that this hotel has 3 stickers for you to place in front of your door, one is do not disturb, the other making bed without changing sheets, and Make Up Room those are convenient 5 stars for that idea. The other good thing about this hotel is that it's a close walking distance to Tokyo Midtown and Roppongi about 15- 20 minutes depending how fast you walk and how far...
Read moreGood hotel in a quiet neigborhood in Akasaka/Midtown area close to 3 subway lines. Taxi drivers know the hotel as Hoteru Asia Kaikan, 15 min taxi drive to Tokyo Station (2500-3000 yen). Rooms are small, but relatively comfortable (AC, TV, small fridge, electric kettle, bathroom). Washing machines available. Bottled water, tea, available in lobby. Use of PC 100 yen/10 min, wifi in lobby/restaurant and rooms is different (you have to hook up twice). Breakfast had very good/standard assortment (scrambled eggs/bacon is outstanding), however is opened 7-10 am only (should be 6.30-10.30). Jetlegged foreigners are asked to leave the restaurant at 10 am sharp 😟 which is not nice! We have hoped to experience some Japanese cultural lessons as advertised, but to our disappointment there was nothing during our 2 stays (6 nights). There was one lesson per week or so at 8.30 am, which is for foreigners with jetleg not covenient (should be in late afternoon). A presentatation of Japanese culture for 20-30 min each day would be fine. Reception staff is helpfull (ordering taxi, suitcase weight scale available), English communication OK. If rooms are available, early check-in is possible for 5000 yen). There is a money exchange machine in the lobby, rates are the same as at exchange counters at airport. The only issue we had was very dirty AC outlet full of mold☹️ On request, room was changed...
Read morea tiny room that does what it should and not much more, really good for a no frills comfortable budget hotel. Probably one of the best budget hotel you can get in the area. It’s ~ 10 mins walk to Ginza Line, close by to Family Marts. Unlimited mineral water bottles taken from lobby fridge. 24 hours service, free luggage storage, staff is polite and helpful to let us know how to get to airport. Make up room everyday includes changing of towels & toilet paper & room slippers, and a little bit making of the bed. Free breakfast that to be honest have a good variety although it’s the same every day but there’s sth for everyone. Jap curry, rice, breads, pancakes, gratin, grilled mackerel, miso soup, fruits, salad bar, bacon, chicken, sausages. Lots of stuff. Had the same thing for 3 breakfasts and it was ok didn’t feel bored. Only sad thing is room is a bit small so opening luggage may be an issue but we made do by opening it below the table haha. Toilet is tiny too, they give a curtain to separate wet and dry area. A clothes line across toilet to hang towel. Room...
