Quite possibly one of the best teishoku lunches I’ve had in the Hatchobori area.
The lunch set meal requires you to choose two items from a selection of four. On my first visit, I chose the baked salmon and cod tempura (which also comes with tempura vegetables) as my two choices.
All dishes that were served were absolutely fantastic. The salmon was baked perfectly - the skin was crispy and the salmon juicy. I could have ordered two on the same visit! The cod tempura was also exquisitely done and was coated in just the right amount of batter.
Normally teishoku rice is nothing special, especially during lunch, but this place serves a different quality of rice. It is fresh and full of flavour, thanks to the restaurant ordering fresh rice each morning from Hokkaido which is the husk is removed the same day. Incredible.
When it comes to the service, it was extremely friendly and really does make you feel at home. Everyone was genuinely happy to be there and serve you with a smile on their face. In particular the lady who helps run the store also speaks impressive English after living abroad in the UK and Singapore, so there were communication problems at all. The two men were also very kind and nice to talk to.
Overall a 10/10 experience and I’ll definitely be looking forward to my next visit!...
Read moreFantastic restaurant! My favorites were the black sesame tofu, the tuna sashimi, and the egg roll (dashmaki tamago); the cold vegetable mix was also good, the uni was fresh, and the soy sauce was amazing. I had google translate on my phone and the waitress also spoke some English, but this was definitely a spot for locals (which was exactly what we were looking for, we didn’t want an overpriced tourist spot). It’s pretty small; 7 seats at the counter and I think there was a little room with tables in the back. The chef was so kind and went out of his way for us. I would definitely recommend and will try to go back before the end...
Read moreMy sister and I had a great experience at Kinome. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. Since the menu was in Japanese, one of the owners helped us to figure out what to order. We explained that since we’re Muslim, we can’t have any meat items on the menu expect the ones with seafood. She completely understood our dietary restrictions and served us accordingly. The food was delicious too. Even though we looked very different from their regular customers, they didn’t treat us differently at all. We were even given a complimentary mangosteen to try. Overall, I definitely recommend...
