Kura Sushi Takadanobaba Station — Restaurant in Tokyo

I was worried about coming here because one of the reviews said it is disgustingly dirty. However, I decided to give it a try, and I’m glad I did!

It is newly refurbished with new tables, tablets, etc. located 4th floor of a building I forget the name.

It is automated, and you order from the tablet at your table. To get you to eat more, they have a “game” where you slide in 5 used plates at a time and you get a chance to win some kind of BTS gashapon. Haha

It is of course junk, but it’s exciting if you’re eating with kids or a k-pop fan. Maybe they’ll change out the prizes every season.

We had about 21 plates + dessert + drinks for about ¥4,800. Not bad for a sushi conveyor restaurant. Everything but the salmon was good.

Not the best sushi ever, obviously, but for the price, it takes care of a sushi craving. Lots of tables. On a week night, it is mostly kids getting out of school, so it was a little loud. Plenty of empty tables, though.

A team of Nepalese staff who were led by a Nepalese store manager delivered very unacceptable service when the plate count did not match the order history. The staff were unprofessional, always shouting at one another speaking a language that is not Japanese, and did not know how to react when a customer had a question. Much more training is required before foreign staff who are unable to speak Japanese can provide service in...

Honestly, I hope Japan doesn't end up like Europe, serving its clients expired dog food... After a decade in Japan, I've paid everything from 100 yen to 10,000 yen per sushi. That's the worst sushi I've ever had.

If you want cheap sushi, just go to Misaki (5 min away); at least the quality is acceptable there. Unfortunately, the store is not child-friendly.
