Right from the moment when we failed to open the sliding door, pushing instead, we were served by the delightful duo running this restaurant with wide smiles. Our chef proudly described each dish, explaining the ingredients, subtley measuring our enjoyment of his work with a healthy dose of great humour. Sake recommendations were excellent and modestly priced, pairing brilliantly with each carefully crafted dish. My husband and I came here on our last evening in Japan on our honeymoon. We had booked a reservation through TableCheck, and it was such a wonderful experience and great way to close out our trip. Every single course was delicious. The restaurant itself is small and intimate, but the two chefs are super welcoming and made us feel less like foreigners and more like regular customers. The chef explained each course, even showing us pictures of the fish and why he chose to cut the fish a certain way. I've been in Tokyo 2 weeks and this is my last night here. This is by far one of the best places I've eaten. The staff and atmosphere are amazing.

Keep in mind what style of food you're being served, it's many small dishes that you watch the chefs prepare in front of you and eat over 1.5 to 2 hours. It's a medium amount of food overall, you'll 100 percent be satisfied but if you have a smaller appetite it won't be overwhelming.

Everything is fairly priced for what you're getting but keep in mind drinks are in line with other menu items. That is, they only carry good stuff.
