SALON渋谷 — Hotel in Tokyo

Booked this "Hotel" through booking.co, This place 100% is an Air BNB not a hotel. AFTER you book you are sent a link to complete “pre check in” which asks for a lot of very private details. E.g passports (photo required) address, occupation, home address.. of ALL guests including children. I was not comfortable with so much private info. worst part is after you do the pre check in you are sent another email saying you will get the actual check in details 24hrs before your stay. I know why this is 24hrs before because if a lot of people received this at time of booking they would cancel! this is 2-3 pages of strict rules that if you break you are liable for extra charges. rules such as no talking on the veranda after 9pm, no shoes or suitcases indoors, no guest. No noise inside or out. no rubbish. “check in” is horrendous and so many steps that you have to go through just to get a key. There is no reception.

wifi is a portable dongle that has no password noted anywhere. you have to go through the dongle menu which is in Japanese to find it. I had to go pay for my own portable wifi just to have internet. staff are very responsive prior to check in however did not respond to 2-3 of my inquiries once checked in and locked into the stay. I asked prior to booking my stay if I could store luggage after check out, I got an email saying we will confirm when you get to the apartment. as per above I asked twice and received no response other than an automated email saying strict check out at 11am. there’s no where to store luggage before or after check in. again another extra cost to me to cart my luggage in town to store before my flight. Really ruined our holiday as it felt like we were staying at someone’s house with very strict rules rather than a hotel we could enjoy and also the stress of having to check out with no place for our luggage.

Decent room and bedding however its a very strict air...

Great location. More of an Air bnb than a hotel, no front desk. Contact phone number via text or what’s app for easy communication.

They do ask you for everyone’s personal information (passport info included) before hand and will not provide you with check in instructions until it is done. DO THIS BEFORE YOU ARRIVE. We saw many people doing it in the lobby with frustration but I did it before (for all guests) and it was fine.

They also ask that you are quiet, especially after 9pm. I would not suggest if you are going to be exploring Tokyo night life. We were careful of our noise late night and had no issues but we were not getting back from late night...

The location and facilities are very, very good.The night view was truly the best... I was impressed.The view you see when you wake up in the morning is also the best...But there was a lot of dust on the bedding.I guess it was a room that wasn't used often.It’s a 15-minute walk from Sensoji Temple.It's quiet...
