Los Angeles Balcony — Restaurant in Tokyo

Went here on a whim on a holiday lunch because the place we wanted to go was closed, but regretted it. Where to start? It's a bit of a walk from the station on a hot day so surprised to see it so busy at just 11:30. Were told because we didn't have a reservation we could only be there for an hour. That was fine, but the service was horrendous. People running all over the place but not efficiently. Our server didn't explain the menu very well then disappeared after appetizers leaving us to wait for 40 minutes. Had to call the hostess to ask to check on our order and she basically took over. My fish was pretty good but the ribs? Hard, dry, and gristly! Then they asked us to move to another table for dessert ... but left our dirty dishes just sitting there at the original one! Totally incomprehensible and really should have complained but just wanted to get out of there because it was also loud with little kids literally screaming at the top of their lungs. My Japanese friend put it best when he called it 高級もどきなファミレス: a family restaurant masquerading as a fancy one. There are plenty of better places to get a really good course lunch...

Chaotic, disorganized, and untrained. These are the words I would use to describe the TERRIBLE SERVICE our group recieved.

Our group pre-ordered appetizers, and it took 45 minutes for the appetizers to arrive.

They refused to take our entree order until after the appetizers came out (why?), and the entrees took another 45 minutes. 90 MINUTES of waiting before our meal. 2 people did not get their meals. No offer for refunds.

We had a great dinner at Los Angeles Balcony. Everything we tried, from starters to mains, was high-quality, well-cooked, and delicious. The food was definitely a highlight. The service was also excellent—big credit to the staff for being attentive and professional.
