Read moreI booked this hotel with my credit card points and was expecting a luxury experience based on the reviews and photos. ||When I arrived at the hotel the room we had booked reeked of cigarettes and was extremely rundown. I explained to the concierge that I booked a non-smoking room and someone came up with a spray bottle and I explained that that wasn’t going to help and I needed a room change. They were able to accommodate us into another room again when we walked in it was extremely rundown, but didn’t smell as bad as the last room at this point we were so exhausted. We just thanked the concierge and accepted the room and went to sleep. The next day I was brushing my teeth in the bathroom and I saw a roach crawling, and I got ready for the day went downstairs, and I explained to the concierge that my fiancé and I booked this hotel for the next five days and that we were celebrating our new engagement and birthday and we spent a lot of money on this hotel only to be greeted with a room that’s rundown that reeked of cigarettes and has a roach in the bathroom crawling around and that this is not what I was expecting. I wanted to know what were the options if I could have a refund because I cannot stay here for five days, she was very understanding and apologetic and she just asked that we have her luggage packed and when we return from our day out and about that they’ll have another room change for us so I decided to just give it another chance. ||When we returned, I was surprised to find out they upgraded us to a suite on the top floor. There is a beautiful view of the skyline. You couldn’t see the Tokyo tower, but you can see it from the elevator outside. The room was very spacious, but it was still very rundown. I was very thankful that they gave us this space I wasn’t expecting it, but you know it was definitely a huge upgrade from the basic rooms downstairs overall I think this hotel is a little bit of smoke and mirrors because you walk in to a very grand lobby and there is a beautiful garden. There’s a couple of restaurants there’s a Tully’s coffee and a 7-Eleven convenience store downstairs but the level of neglect the rooms have is just unacceptable for an average cost of 300+ a night. I believe the club rooms are 500 and up. I think if you’re staying in Tokyo, there’s a lot of convenience anywhere you stay there’s restaurants outside any hotel there’s a café. Most of the hotels will send your luggage to wherever you need to go. I feel like this hotel feels like a convention center. The closest train station is Shinagawa station and there’s some pretty steep hills You have to go up and down getting to and from that station. I think this hotel can use some renovations to say the very least. Overall, I’m very grateful that they were responsive, unable to rectify the situation, but if I were to pay out-of-pocket, I would definitely look at other options in Tokyo I wouldn’t return to this hotel. This is just my...
