I recently visited Maxwell Aqua City and had an unforgettable time at Aqua Park Shinagawa. From start to finish, the experience was truly spectacular.
Upon entering, I was greeted by a lively atmosphere with a pirate ship and carousel, adding a touch of fun and excitement. The variety of attractions ensured that everyone, regardless of age, could find something entertaining.
The highlight of my visit was the new dolphin show, which now includes orcas. The performances by the trainers were nothing short of extraordinary. They showcased highly challenging movements that left me in awe. I witnessed the trainers standing on the dolphins' backs and riding them like skateboards, displaying incredible balance and skill. Additionally, they used the orcas as jump boards, launching themselves into the sky while executing backflips. It made a massive splash and the poor audience sitting at the front rows were totally wet! It was a breathtaking spectacle that truly showcased the trainers' expertise and the animals' cooperation.
The lights and water effects during the dolphin show were the perfect decorations, enhancing the overall experience. The vibrant colors and synchronized lighting created a mesmerizing atmosphere, adding an extra layer of magic to the already captivating performances. The interplay of water, light, and music transformed the show into a truly immersive and unforgettable experience.
In addition to the shows, Aqua Park Shinagawa's exhibits were equally fascinating. The sea animals were captivating, and the aquarium's efforts in creating natural habitats for them were commendable. I was mesmerized by the diverse species and the educational information available throughout the exhibits.
The overall organization and cleanliness of the park were noteworthy. The staff members were friendly and helpful, ensuring a seamless experience for all visitors. The facilities were well-maintained, providing a comfortable and enjoyable environment.
Whether you're a local or a tourist, I highly recommend visiting Maxwell Aqua City and Aqua Park Shinagawa. It offers a perfect combination of entertainment, education, and relaxation. It's a great place to spend a day with family or friends, immersing yourself in the wonders of the...
Read more4 stars but 3 stars cause it felt like a rip off. At least the dolphins were nice to watch.
If you want to go here for anything else than the dolphin show, then don't, it's a waste of time. You might have seen the pictures and thought wow I can take so many cool pictures here, well think again, it's crowded and congested and I honestly felt betrayed by the size of the whole thing, it's just 2 floors like come on, looking at the pics I was imagining something like a whole park but it's just 2 floors with small to medium sized aquariums displayed around. The tunnel thing was disappointing short.
With that out, the dolphins truly were worth the wait tho, but you have to grab your seats around 30 kins prior to the start of the show AND DON'T SEAT IN THE FRONT 3-4 ROWS IF YOU DON'T WANT TO GET WET AT ALL, they give you plastic covers but don't count on it to keep you dry. Although I say this, it's kinda fun to get wet and then just laugh it off, they do give you towels to dry off as well so it's a fun experience.
The highlight for me absolutely was the penguin area, so there's this small penguin in the penguin aquarium area who follows your hand movements, it's so fun go interact with it, it just follows whoever's hand it sees and you can make him do stuff. It would have been fun if that dang emperor penguin would follow my orders tho.
We did miss some activities, there's supposed to be mini performances in the morning and the night, we went around noon so no luck.
Pro tip: Go in the night, the dolphin show looks stunning in the night, if that's the one worthwhile thing to do here, do it with the best...
Read moreI recently visited the aquarium, and while it had some highlights, there were also a few disappointments. The star of the show was undoubtedly the dolphin performance. It was an unforgettable experience to see these magnificent creatures up close, and the interactive nature of the show offered a chance for a few lucky guests to get splashed! They give you towels after! I can definitely recommend visit here if you already been to other aquariums in Tokyo.
The overall layout of the aquarium was nice but smaller than I anticipated. The variety of exhibits was decent, but I found the tanks a bit lackluster in terms of cleanliness. Many were covered in greasy fingerprints, likely from excited kids – a little more attention to detail would go a long way in enhancing the visitor experience.
On the food front, I was quite disappointed. The prices were steep, and the quality just didn’t match up. However, I must give a shoutout to the caramel popcorn, which was delicious and a nice treat during my visit.
Another positive aspect was the indoor rides, which were quite impressive and added an element of fun beyond the aquatic displays. I also took a peek into the gift shop and found it to be satisfactory, offering a variety of nice merchandise.
In summary, while the aquarium had its shortcomings, particularly in cleanliness and food quality, I would still recommend it primarily for the dolphin show. I'm looking forward to experiencing the night show during a future visit, as I believe it could be quite magical. Overall, a visit here can be delightful if you manage your expectations regarding...
