The street we came across on our first night in Nakano was very rainy and cold. We pacing quickly with our umbrellas, eager to find the best place to eat a bowl of ramen. My goodness, were we overwhelmed by the number of ramen places we walked by.

Atmosphere: Thankfully, we stumbled into this place by accident and couldn’t have been happier. Other places we passed were loud and looked clutter inside. Yet, the atmosphere in this place was so quiet, calm and cozy. I’d say it was because everyone’s attention was solely focused on their bowls of ramen as we did the exact same. Our ramen was ready in about five minutes (one, very focused and efficient cook) with a nice presentation.

Meal: I had the fish and chicken ramen (limited time-seasonal item) and I’m so happy I did. The selection I chose had a much thicker and cloudier broth (vs. the more traditional broth), which filled my tastebuds with an explosion of flavors. Every bite was just as good as the first, which had me getting sadder as my bowl kept on emptying. I did try some of my husband’s classic ramen, and the broth was also great. I’d never had a fish broth ramen with chicken, so I was hesitant at first with my choice. Absolutely ZERO regrets on my choice! I’m the slowest eater in the WORLD. This always makes me panic for others waiting to be seated. Hence, why I’m always left in the dust by my fast-eating husband, ready to offer his seat for the next customer. Surprisingly, I finished my bowl of ramen about the same time as my husband (very rare). We’re definitely coming back!

Location: The place is right next to the Family Mart off the Nakano Broadway strip. I only saw one Family Mart, so forgive me if I’m wrong. There’s also the traditional vending machine kiosk (it accepts cards and cash) right outside the entrance. If you see the big metal staircase, you cant can’t miss it.

Our bellies were completely satisfied on our entire train ride home. Overall, this place was our happy little accident of the night and I’m so glad we saved this...

I had been walking around all day and came to Nakano just hoping to have a bowl of local food to make this exhausting day a little better. Honestly, I was going to eat at the restaurant next door, but it was too popular and the line was too long, so I came here as a backup. I tried to order the most expensive dish on the menu—and I did—but it turned out to taste terrible. I truly regretted spending the money I had worked so hard to earn in Tokyo. The moment I entered the restaurant politely, I could feel a negative vibe from the staff. Maybe they were looking down on foreigners who didn’t seem to know much. In any case, I recommend you go somewhere else. Don’t come here—unless you really have no other choice.

If you’re a ramen lover, this place is a must-try! The broth has a bold, rich flavor that’s incredibly satisfying. The “Rich” chicken ramen is especially amazing, with a thick, deeply flavorful broth that really hits the spot. I also tried the limited-time clam broth, which is perfect for colder weather—it’s unique and adds a nice seasonal touch.

One small note for English speakers: the ticketing machine reverts to Japanese after you select to pay and add any extras, so keep your phone ready to translate if you’re planning to customize your meal. Overall, though, the food here is totally worth it. Highly...

Excellent tsukemen shop that uses a thick chicken broth that is really tasty. The sliced chicken is flame grilled using a hand held held burner briefly, the bamboo and diced chicken is cooked in the chicken broth. The noodles are nice and thick with a crinkle texture to aid in clinging to the delicious thick chicken broth. They suggest adding freshly squeezed lemon juice to add a bit of zest to the broth and this works. This place is just to the side of nakano Broadway so is a short walk. Highly recommended for a different take on tsukemen.
