My experience in this restaurant has been terrible, in fact, I would rank this place at the bottom of all restaurants in Japan. Not one, but several problems came up during my meal here. First of all, the owner of the restaurant acted all nice and friendly at first, but once we sat down inside, he turned into the worst salesman you could think of. He was constantly pushing us towards the most expensive menu, without giving us a chance to review the options before choosing. While we were trying to translate the Japanese menu into English using Google Translate, as I do not speak nor read Japanese, he was constantly distracting us with the high end menu, in order for us to choose it. We ended up with the middle tier option and once we did so, he handed us a Chinese menu which would have been helpful if he did so at the beginning.
Second problem, while we were first served with a platter of meat, we were given a grill that pretty much didn't work. It wasn't going to cook anything at all, even the beef will moo when cooked on that grill. The owner noticed it but did not do anything until we requested a grill change.
Third problem, we requested food multiple times and each time, the speed of the food that was placed on the table was slower than a snail. We were constantly out of food and requesting for refills.
Fourth problem, the quality of one of the wagyu beef was terrible. In fact, the fat to meat ratio was 99% fat with 1% of not fat. I would not even call that 1% meat as it did not fit the definition of meat. When we let the owner know, his response was that the cut was supposed to that fat. For your information, the cut was a steak cut, not a pure slab of heart disease.
Fifth problem, there was one good cut on the menu which we decided to order more of it. The first 2 orders of that came slow but it arrived. When we tried to order the third time, we were greeted by the owner who told us that the cut given was a mistake by the kitchen and we were not supposed to get that cut. He said that it was on the most expensive menu and not ours. We asked if we could order 4 of those and we were greeted with reluctance. It wasn't our problem that your kitchen gave the wrong food out so don't take it out on us. Honestly, if you are opening an all you can eat restaurant, don't be stingy with your food. I paid for the meal and if you say that it wasn't the right cut, just give us the right cut when we order it. There is no reason to give us attitude. If we asked why it was different, then feel free to explain that your kitchen previously made a mistake. They did give us the "upgraded" cut but the way the situation was handled was unimpressive and it did not reflect the great hospitality I have experienced in Japan.
To sum up, you are better off going to the many different yakiniku restaurants on the same street or just a couple stores over. This place is a disgrace to the amazing Japanese culture and I definitely will not be coming back, even if its free. I get much better service and food from McDonald's...
Read moreSave your money and don’t come. Worst experience I’ve had in life. The food was just meh but the attitude of the staff is horrible horrible.
Their all you can eat menu includes some controversial meat that you have to finish before ordering the other items on the menu. If you can’t finish those plates too bad they’ll keep tabs on you every 5 minutes and force you to eat it all up. They’ll even force you to eat burnt meat and guilt trip the customers for leaving two pieces of over cooked meat on the plate. The middle aged waiter is toxic af and he kept bothering us until the very end even though we finished everything that we were forced to. 0/5, would not recommend even to...
Read moreWhen we sat down they only showed us several more expensive all-you-can-eat menus from what was displayed outside, which was misleading. It was only when we asked about the price they gave us the cheaper option. A pretty dishonest upsell attempt in my opinion. But then only after bringing out the first plate of food did they take our drink order. At this time is when we were told that they had a "one drink per person minimum" policy and wouldn't let us order water. Another dishonest upsell tactic.
Just be careful. There are other yakiniku restaurant options nearby (across the street), so be sure to confirm the prices...
