We went here for a quick dinner. We got the mozzarella platter as aperitive which had three types of standard sized (roughly 100-125 g) mozzarella: affumiciata, burrata and normal. No bufala. The platter had just these three mozzarellas with a few dry green salad leaves underneath; no olive oil, no tomato, no balsamico, no rucola or no basil or any other presentation. Green salad without a sauce doesn’t go well with anything. The affumiciata is very strong and needs an equally strong tasting side to go with it. Otherwise it’s completely overpowering like it was here. The simple aperitive platter with no presentation was 5600 ¥ which is very expensive for what you get. As a bread we received one bun each which also wasn’t exactly Italian. Good thing there was IGP balsamico and extra virgin olive oil at the table. The swordfish was good but I would’ve liked a simple side dish with it. The veal milanese was more like wienerschnitzel as it didn’t come with the bone. Staff was friendly as always in Japan but the orders came in in a bit erratic fashion and the used platters weren’t taken away. Water took long to get. Wine selection was acceptable. Would’ve loved some Aqua Panna or San Pellegrino with a restaurant of this...
Read moreGood Italian food but over priced for what you get. The green salad has no presentation and it came before the bread which came before the bowls for the olive oil and balsamic vinegar for dipping the bread into. For the price of the restaurant they should ask if you want more bread rather than take the plate away and not say anything. Also the bread was a bit boring with just 2 small round breads. The margarita pizza was good. The pasta felt small sized for the price but it was good. They should have asked if we wanted parmigiano cheese grated over the pasta or extra pepper with the black pepper mill grinder. The grilled eggplant with cheese was delicious. The restaurant has nice decorations and its cosy and romantic. The staff are polite. The restaurant is missing the Italian touch but the...
Read moreWhere do we start. Let’s try with the fact that this place has amazing gluten free options, and they will accommodate just about anything to ensure that your experience is top notch. The quality of food, including pasta (the schiafone is outrageous, the spaghetti limone was perfect) , chicken, appetizers (we had burrata and bread that was out of this world), and even their French fries are some of the best ever. The atmosphere is so comfortable, upscale and chill. And the service is every bit as good as the food (Sean leads the way with an incredible caring touch). We have a handful of food allergies and never had to worry once. We visited the restaurant three times...
