This hotel was the least expensive and decently located hotel we stayed at in Tokyo. However, the room was very small and hard to move around for two people. The blanket/comforter was hard to share for two people as well. The window over the bed leaked the weather badly. It was very cold outside and that made it very cold at the headboard of the bed. So it was not a very comfortable stay. Luckily, it was for only two nights. Also, there's a hospital nearby, and you will hear ambulance sirens throughout the night. Customer service was hit and miss. Our initial check-in was good, as well as checkout service. However, two gentlemen in-between were not very helpful at all. We wanted to ship our luggage and they simply pointed out an app and asked to fill it out away from the counter. I had questions and asked assistance. He explained a few things, and just before I sent send, I asked for them to confirm the information was correct. They looked and said, "Sorry, this is wrong. You have to fill this form out instead". So we filled it out ourselves and proceeded with shipping our luggage. The next day, we saw people requesting to ship their luggage and the customer service reps were happy to fill the information out for the guests. The bathroom is rather tight. Pajamas were provided, but they only fit my wife. Not me. Location was close to train station and restaurants. The Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building is maybe a 10-minute walk away.

This is a TERRIBLE hotel and terribly overpriced, worst hotel in Tokyo ever. The Google reviews are extremely misleading. Please refrain from booking the non-renovated rooms. When I entered the room (room 2310), there was a bad smell in the toilet and from the carpet in the room. There were stains on the wall. Everything smelt old and looked dated. Even the corridors had a smell. The worst is the toilet, I dared not even use the toilet seat as there was a bad smell coming from the toilet. Also, the chargers were located far away and not by the bedside. Lastly, the hotel front desk is unresponsive and extremely unkind and refused to give me a change of room. I got out of the hotel quickly the next morning. Even now thinking about the rotten smell within the room and the toilet, makes me want to genuinely vomit. I highly urge you to spend your money elsewhere.

This is our third hotel while in Japan. We were warmly welcomed with a smile. One staff member served my family their welcome juice while I was checking in. She then helped us with our luggage to the elevator. The lobby is simply tidy and elegant. The room is clean and fresh. The shower and restroom are modern and spacious compared to other hotels in Japan. They offer a breakfast buffet for a small fee in the garden, which is simply gorgeous! The food selection is good enough to start your day. It’s also a plus that the local metro station is just a minute's walk right outside. A Family Mart, pharmacy, and 7-Eleven are also nearby. It's a 15-minute walk to the Shinjuku shopping area and station. Overall, we enjoyed our three-night stay and highly recommend this hotel. I hope they continue to maintain their high standards. Thank you to all the wonderful staff!

One thing I forgot to add; we are a family. This is listed as a business hotel. For business purposes the room size is perfect. Because of this I have changed my rating for rooms from a 3-5. For a family I would still rate a 3 as the beds are definitely small even for one person. One person can sleep comfortably on these beds though. The only reason for the four on service rating was we had a poor experience with our housekeeper on the 9th floor giving us a hard time asking for two extra pillows. We had four pillows. We had four people. Two of our pillows were flat and small. She made me go to the front desk to ask for two extra pillows which they gave us. I had to take the one working elevator down 9 floors and back up just for two pillows. Maybe she was having a bad day. She also serviced our room afterwards and supplied us with towel settings for 2 people. We took our own towels off of her cart for the next three days. Other than this, service and people were outstanding. Especially at the breakfast buffet. So kind and nice. Thanks again Hotel Rose Garden.

We stayed here for 8 nights; family of four (one 15 year old & 9 year old). Location is hands down one of the best for everything we did. Central to everything tourist wise, walking distance of many family friendly activities (arcade, shopping, etc.) and right across the street from the train/subway station which is very important if you do not want to spend $50+ USD every where you want to go each way. The train subway and bus system is very easy to understand after one or two days of traveling and if you can travel during non rush hour times, awesome and smooth rides that save hours of walking or $100’s of USD’s. The only critical flaw is the size of the regular rooms and the beds. These beds are small even for two small people to share. Example; our two kids are small and not overweight. It was a challenge for them. Me? 6ft tall and could lose about 15 lbs. my wife small petite. Our sleep…yeah not so great other than she was happy because we were close to each other throughout the entire night. I had no moving space or turning room on bed. Sideways and legs hanging. We upgraded to a bigger room which had more space (basic room could barely fit us and luggage. I’m not joking) and upgrade room was plenty of space but the beds were identically tiny. The blankets and comforter were very small short and narrow. My son says he was freezing every night. We travelled during January so not hotels fault. Toilets, awesome. Bathrooms not complaining at all. Upgraded room was nice and spacious bathroom. Overall hotel is great place for single or dual traveling and if you are 5ft 3 and very narrow and sleeping alone, the beds are perfect. Also an interesting note, seemingly the more we paid for room the warmer the bidet water was. Upgraded room bidet awesome. If American and like being clean and think toilet paper only is silly, you are correct. Bidet and wet wipes will have forever changed my view on western toilet etiquette. We are purchasing a “warm water” friendly bidet the second we land back home in Hawaii. Long story short; Japan great, hotel arose Garden great location and friendly service but seriously need to think about bed size and room size for taller people. No offense intended or meant by that. I would stay here again is bottom line merely based on location. Oh and breakfast included everyday, awesome!!!! Thank you hotel...

At check-in they tried to offer me a room with a broken mirror at a 3000Y discount out of the blue (for 3 nights). I was a bit taken aback because a) that sounds like a safety concern and b) this does not sound like something I'd expect from a hotel in Japan c) who wants to stay in a room with a broken mirror sounds like bad luck to me. So I brushed that off. I had booked a comfort twin (still quite small but expected for Japanese standards, and could not open both suitcases) and they gave me a room on the 3rd floor. First off, if you like individually controlling the tempurature in your room, this is not the place to stay, I didn't see any mention of this in the reviews but the lobby and rooms itself were extremely warm, I had to open the windows which was not ideal because this hotel is across the street from the hospital so there are constant sirens. Secondly, the warm seat function on their toilet wasn't working so I went down and they had a look while I was out and insisted it was on. I asked to switch rooms and 100% the other toilet seat warming function was not working because the one in my new room was. So I went and told them at front desk and was pretty frustrated at that point. They did kindly offer comped buffet breakfast for the balance of my stay which was nice. The other plus with this hotel is that it's right next to the subway station and a block from the Hilton Tokyo that has the Airport limo bus for both Haneda and...
