My husband and I stayed at the Tokyo Hilton for 4 nights during the first week of December during our first trip to Japan! I could not have been happier to have picked this hotel and this location as a landing/starting point for our first international trip.
The hotel staff was incredibly helpful leading up to the trip and quickly answered any emails I sent with questions about location, accommodations and how to get there! Because of the time difference between Tokyo and Chicago, I relied heavily on emails and the team here never missed a beat and the responses were always warm, thorough and helpful. If landing at Haneda, there is a limousine bus that can be purchased ahead of time or at the airport that will drop off right at this Hilton!
Everyone we encountered after we checked in was just as friendly and helpful as well. Almost everyone spoke varying degrees of English and if there was any question communication was easy with translation apps! It really made the anxiety of being in a new country ease and it was not expected but was greatly appreciated!
The lobby is spacious and clean and Shin at the desk was courteous and friendly and got us checked in right away! He offered information on the hotel, where to eat nearby and informed us of our breakfast options for our stay. He even saw that it was my birthday and gave me a gift box of chocolates and had some wine sent up to the room. What an impression! Thank you, Shin.
We booked an Executive King Room and received a corner room with a nice view of the city. The room was incredibly clean, with a Nespresso coffee maker, coffee pods, a mini fridge, an electric kettle and glassware. The bed was firm and comfortable with soft sheets and bedding. The bathroom was small but mighty with a large soaking tub and a bidet. It was quite dry when we stayed and we asked Shin about a humidifier for the room and he had one sent up right away. It really saved our noses!
With the Executive Room we received access to the Executive Lounge. We found that we didn’t use this very much and the food options were out during very specific times we always seemed to miss while we were exploring the city. We didn’t get to have a single bite of food up here, unfortunately! Drinks are meant to be consumed in the lounge only with the exception of the to go coffee and matcha machine drinks. The matcha on this machine was my favorite matcha I had all trip.
As a gold member we received free breakfast in the Marble Room and we had breakfast there every day. It is buffet style with some server attentiveness for your seating and initial drink order. The food was outstanding especially the made to order omelet station! The two gentlemen working it made such delicious omelets that I didn’t want to entertain breakfast anywhere else! We had 4 breakfasts here and they were all great.
Finally, Krislyn, a lobby ambassador, really made our trip to Tokyo a special one. She offered such great advice for getting around, where to eat, how to interact and speak like a local and really made us feel special and welcome! She remembered us every day and said hi like a friend every time! She assisted us with forwarding our luggage to our next hotel (in Kyoto) and on our departure day even gifted me a pair of Tokyo Hilton chopsticks as a birthday gift! I will cherish them for a very long time. This type of customer service and genuine human interaction will ensure that we come back to Tokyo Hilton in Shinjuku every time we make our...
Read moreI had a short one night stay at the Hilton Tokyo. I made a trip to Kusatsu onsen and did not want to take all my luggage so the Hilton kindly agreed to store my luggage for a few days while I was away at Kusatsu onsen. When I returned to the Hilton, check in was quick, I was given an upgrade to an Executive room based on Hilton Honors Diamond status, and my stored luggage was quickly delivered to me. The room is pretty standard looking for Hilton chain hotels in Japan but as the hotel is quite old now, the furnishings do look a bit well worn. Nevertheless, the room is large by Japan standards and very comfortable. Technology upgrades have been made with a wireless charging pad added to bedside. ||The Executive Lounge serves snacks and cocktails at evening cocktails from 5 pm to 7 pm. There was a very nice selection of snacks including a delicious pumpkin veloute soup, pigs in a blanket, chicken patties, two kinds of dim sum, cold cuts and cheeses, salad bar, breads and desserts. The event is very popular with those with Executive Lounge access so the lounge was quite busy already by 5 pm but it was never full during the time I was there. ||I had breakfast in the Marble Lounge buffet restaurant the next morning and was surprised to have been apparently notified to all in advance. Reception had staff accompany to a nice large table that was nestled against the back of the restaurant so it was more spacious and peaceful, all the wait staff nearby seemed to know my name, and Mr. Waki, the Journey Ambassador, came by to introduce himself and checked on me several times during my breakfast. I suspect the extra special treatment arose from a prior interaction I had with several members of management at the Hilton Tokyo when I discussed with them a number of issues when the hotel first resumed operations after the pandemic. Nevertheless, it felt really nice to be the subject of such wonderful attention. ||I saw Mr. Waki again when I was checking out and once again, he was most helpful and helped me with my luggage and arrangement for a taxi to Shinjuku station for my Narita Express train to the airport. ||The Hilton Tokyo offers a complimentary shuttle bus to Shinjuku station that generally runs every 20 minutes. However due to construction around Shinjuku station, the bus stop has been moved so it is now much further from the South and New South entrances I generally use for getting around Tokyo on the Yamanote line and for taking the Narita Express. I had just missed the shuttle bus when I returned to Tokyo from Kusatsu onsen on the expressway bus and opted to walk to the Hilton and that took me only about 10 minutes. ||The Hilton Tokyo remains a fine business focused hotel in Shinjuku and a convenient comfortably Western home base for tourists. The location convenient to Shinjuku station by shuttle bus or walking, and there are two subway lines close by that can be accessed walking underground. The hotel provides top quality service throughout so you will have a very...
