I recently visited Oreryu Shio Ramen in Jingumae, Shibuya City, Tokyo, and I'd rate my experience a solid 75/100. The restaurant exudes a modern charm, making it a refreshing spot in the bustling city. The service impressed me with its professionalism and promptness, contributing positively to the overall dining experience.
For the main event, the ramen, I found it didn't quite hit the mark for my taste, perhaps influenced by my tourist perspective. However, it's worth noting that Oreryu Shio Ramen offers a wide variety of ramen, from classic Shio to Fried Chicken Ramen, and even unique blends like Cheese Jjigae Miso Ramen. Their approach to daily handmade ramen and a focus on improving the taste of carefully selected ingredients is commendable.
The restaurant also provides extra condiments like dried seaweed, yuzu chili paste, and garlic paste for diners to customize their ramen to taste. With the ramen priced around 1,000 yen, the value for money is quite reasonable. Although I didn’t find anything particularly unique during my visit, reviews suggest that dishes like the special pork ramen and the rich soup base are highly recommended.

I can't recommend the char siu and fried chicken combo enough, especially when paired with the rich broth without chili – it's an explosion of flavors! I ordered a medium-sized bowl, which turned out to be quite massive. In any ordinary circumstance, I wouldn't have been able to finish it all. In fact, I came dangerously close to devouring the entire thing! If it weren't for my girlfriend‘s attempts to steal some, I might have cleared the entire bowl! Each bite of noodles and every sip of that soup was...

They had a few toppings and sauces at each table so you could add a little more flavour to your ramen if you wanted to. The ramen themselves were quite large portions so if you’re looking to be full this is the place to go! There was a little bit of a wait but it moved pretty quickly. They’ve got bar seating as well as several tables. You have to purchase your selection prior with the machine outside of the shop. That was a fun experience in itself.
Overall, I’m not so sure I would come back here but it was still...
