You will be charged 21% fee for reading this review... Just kidding 🤪
But surely you will be charged 21% for dining in this modest, very ordinary, and not unique restaurant.
The only acceptable 21% surcharge, IMO, applies to luxury 5 star hotels/resorts because, well, the grandeur ultra fine superior decoration, exterior as well as interior design, and sometimes over the top landmark or majestic views. All of those cost heavy duty of dollars, and surely begs a privilege of its own. This TGIF has none of the above traits,
so why should they get your 21%? Let's check. Superior hamburger taste? NO. Above and beyond customer service? NO. Intelligent toilet system? NO. Innovative futuristic restaurant concept? NO. Majestic views? NO NO NO. I fact, the kitchen forgot to put the sauce inside the burger. The beef patty was burnt, the so called organic lettuce taste like normal lettuce, the diced bacon was so dry that if someone mistakenly said it is a frozen beef jerky, most people will forgive you. Worst of all, the strawberry smoothie has rough sizeable seeds that is so annoying and impossible to chew all over the drink. What do they put in my drink? Is the razor knife of the blender blunt?
Now, why must you spend your 21% money to TGIF? If you are really hungry, go to Lawson for a snack or if you are tired and need to sit, go to MOS burger. Believe me, you would thank me later.

Read moreI dont know if it was because i was a foreigner or the American model for restaurants just doesnt translate very well to the japanese culture, however the service here was absolutely awful, we waited 45 mins just to place our order. It seemed like the staff was actively ignoring my "sumimasen" and eye contact with our table in general, after having my "excuse me" ignored 3 times instead of causing confrontation with the timid/scared waiters i went to what appeared to be the manager to ask if we could order. He looked around as if confused why our order wasnt taken already and took the order himself. I asked for my burger well done and again maybe something lost in translation, however the burger came as a medium-rare. I have never had a burger served like this so it was almost like another dig to the fact we were foreigners and not welcomed there. When i went to ask for the check, instead of wasting my time with "sumimasens" i headed to the waiter directly, where he then saw me and ducked out to the kitchen. At which point i just went to the manager and paid and left. I hope this was just isolated to me and other foreigners do experience this. I do know the all japanese table across from us got exemplary service, with constant check ups and refills to drinks and water.... extemely...
Read moreI made a reservation last week for 11 am and even indicted in their questionnaire it was for meeting a friend. When we arrived the host was very cold towards us. As it was raining when we got there we took a moment to get settled but ordered drinks right away. Shortly after we ordered an appetizer all the while this man was cold and rude to us. We ordered our lunch with another waiter who was friendly and agreeable. Then in the middle of eating our lunch the rude/cold host comes and tells us we’ve been there too long…we were very confused because we weren’t told there is a time limit to stay there? Also half the restaurant was empty but they were making people line up…we didn’t know this til we left. Well we wanted dessert and told the rude host that. After that the friendly guy came back and told us it was last order…that was at 1 in the afternoon and again we weren’t told anything about a time limit and according to the website they’re open 11 -4 for lunch…so we hurried to eat dessert and left. Despite pushing us to leave they were certainly slow about taking our payment….NEVER AGAIN, NO THANK YOU…Fridays is known for having an exciting and energetic atmosphere but we couldn’t even eat our meal and enjoy catching up without being pushed to get out despite the restaurant...
